January 29-30, 2015 Clipper
Could be a 1-3/2-4 inch snow type of event. Will look at it again Tuesday night.

FWIW 500mb looks good for this one to dig a touch more, and trend stronger. Will prob see the true nature of this one by 00z Mon/Tues once our big storm pieces come together.

Let's get through the epic incoming beast first but I am intrigued by this as well - needs to dig a bit more like you said and we see a 3-5" event - with the way the pattern is shaping up it will happen

Poor neglected January 30th clipper. No ones paying any attention to you. I Wonder where they all are?
You will never grow up to be what your big brother the January 26th clipper became.
You're just a loser.

This one is losing steam. It's tracking to our north but maybe they'll be some redevelopment along the coast. Will look at it closer tonight

The latest EURO model takes the storm north of the city, but still brings snow along the arctic front. Enhances a bit when it gets to the coast.
Probably like 1-3 inches

Sad but true Jman.
I'll take a nice 1-3 just to freshen up the snowpack by then. It only takes an inch or two for that. Beautiful out there today.

00z GFS takes the clipper north. Just some snow showers. Early forecast is C-2 inches

Re: January 29-30, 2015 Clipper
I think we're good for 1-2 across the Tri-State.
Most may verify closer to the 1, but a few lucky people will get 2.
Clippers usually produce high ratios, and although temperatures will not be that cold, the ground is frozen solid, and it's coming through at night.

the rgem looks like it wants to develop a low pressure right over us on Friday morning gives us about 2 to 3 inches of snow from the city north and west however Long Island is mostly rain.

12z GFS shows about 1-3 inches for the area

Re: January 29-30, 2015 Clipper
This clipper on Friday is trying to transfer energy to the coast. Once it feels the block from up north, I think it will. New England may get another decent event out of it with 3-6 inches of snow. Our area, if the transfer happens early enough, could see 2-4 inches of snow. I'll remain conservative for now and say C-2 inches. 1-3 inches N&W of NYC

This clipper will help freshen up the snow pack, but most importantly, send down another surge of cold air in preparation for the Sunday night into Monday storm.

Pretty amazing, 12z GFS closes off H5 off the coast of New England. Maine gets a 6-12 inch storm. These clippers that turn into Miller B's are awesome to track
