Snow
14.3 °F
Feels Like 14 °F
N3.0
Wind from NE
Gusts 10.0 mph
Snow falling moderately. Temps rose quickly in just an hour or so. I haven't measured yet. One or two more coffees and I'll feel human enough to check out there.

Re: February 17th Storm: 1st Call Snow Map and Observations
12* and light snow just had a 30 minute burst of mod snow. We overperformed due to the incredible snow ratios. 25:1 ? maybe even 30:1 which I'd historic in my book for the coastal plain when all is said and done. These southern stream, systems seem to overperform one way or another. I am eyeballing 2" and I"ll take it - any snow is good snow. This arctic snow is fluff, clean it with a broom or back blower.
congrats to you south of me here. Radar last night was a tell tale sign something was up. Amazing.

hey AL! sorry I know I been off for a minute was a crazy weekend, I only have about 2 inches as of 7:30am, surprised you have a inch and a half more. I just did a quick measure though on my way out the door so maybe it was not 100% accurate. Sounds like this overperformed for any NJ people, good for u : )

Re: February 17th Storm: 1st Call Snow Map and Observations
Snow has now ended but for a couple stray flurries here and the sun is just trying to break through the cloud cover at times. Just went out to get my "official" total: I measure 3.25" in Somerville. Light and fluffy, easy to shovel and clear from your car.

9* and flurries, no accumulation. I was on the far northern edge of the storm this time, oh well.

Very light flurries here. Doesn't look like we got more than a couple of inches but they still closed schools.

Re: February 17th Storm: 1st Call Snow Map and Observations
Storm performed very well for the area. It actually did not do so well around DC - a large dry slot developed over them - but the 700mb frontogenesis really took over in the overnight hours here to deliver us a nice fluffy snow. With precip getting pretty far north, ratios with this system were at least 20:1 given the reports I am seeing around the web. Jersey coast, as suspected, was the jackpot with 5-7" amounts. Overall, I was happy with my call and will now look to track the next event Wednesday night in the other thread.

Sun is out birds are chirping but there's still light snow falling, looks really weird.
Got exactly 2" here, impressive since I was so far north.

1.8 inches light fluffy snow. Still have flurries falling like crystals in the emerging sunlight. used the leaf blower to get rid of the snow.

Just flurries now 13 degrees. just came in from blowing the snow off the ice rink. Measured an average of 4.5" of baby powder. with the 1" from the last bust storm my season total is up to 44" Good season even with all the misses!
