had a high of 72 deg today all i can say is good bye march it has been a disappointing month and horrible winter thanks to the hell nino

Another horrible, mild, well above normal month ends. It has been an endless stream of above normal months for 12 straight months now.

March ends with every reporting station in NYC and the surrounding area ending up 6-7 degrees above normal. I was very pessimistic about this winter when I first heard the phrase super El Nino this past summer regarding the upcoming winter. Even though I prepared myself for the worst this was far worse than I even imagined it would be.

Growing up in the HV I always considered Winter to be roughly Mid November to the end of March. We just lived through the warmest November through March period in our history. Take away one snow storm and this would be the worst winter in history, hands down, no arguments.

Could a strong la Nina be any worse? It's hard too imagine.

CP, I had given up on winter in December and I had asked about what the summer might bring as in a strong La Nina. I was told it was too soon to talk about the summer (of course it was) but now...will we have a hot, dry summer? I think we will. I don't have any analog data to look at or models to hug. I just think after this winter, this is going to be the setup. And tomorrow, let us see if there is any snow by Sunday, and how cold it gets. And, how much the wind blows. But it's New York. Wait a day; the weather changes.
