Today was brutal. Had my mother in laws funeral and thank god the priest did the express service as we shivered in the wind all bundled up.

We had to postpone the funeral from Thursday to today for obvious reasons.

Been thinking about you and your family ....was wondering when the funeral would be..I am so sorry again for your loss...I hope your wife is holding up. I lost my mother on Thanksgiving morning 15 years ago...again may all the laughs, the hugs, and the smells..(I kept something with my mother's favorite perfume on it...I take it out from time to time and imagine the smell of her...)The pain never ends...truly..but that crushing pain does...may you and your family feel peace.

Great pictures amugs I just came back from ice skating at Bryant Park and like I said earlier even though it's freezing cold outside but it is a beautiful winter wonderland with snow on the ground grabbing a hot chocolate just a great night

please don't laugh..I have a question..that might sound silly to some...but the snow we have on the ground after this storm..seems different...sort of wispy...more of a powder..is it because the air is so dry and cold? It reminds me of the snow I experienced out west during my skiing days...

I am not buying the stock forecast either. I have seen weather.gov say simple things only to find greater things happening. Whenever I hear "ice", I take notice.

Norwegian Dawn..went thru that storm on Thursday...wow that is insane. How irresponsible.

Also, another nightmare...JFK had a water main break today, what a mess. People have been waiting for days to fly and now this happened.

As you can tell I am watching the news...lol

From one disaster to another what else could go wrong at JFK at Terminal 4. The pipe that burst open with a sprinkler pipe 4 inch I am guessing the pipe was frozen and the build of the ice has caused the pipe to burst open

When I arrived at the airport Friday there was such a back up they were telling newly arriving flights that there was a 3-5 hr wait to get your luggage. Some people waited up to 11 hrs to get their luggage. I filed a case file and they said they would deliver me me in 5-7days. Now I’m hoping my luggage was not affected by the water main break. Man what a cluster F this storm created for travelers.

Doc, so sorry you have to be aggravated by this.This extreme cold has wreaked havoc for sure.Just goes to show do not leave any valuables on luggage you check in.

Mugs, I know it's been tough for you the last week but you still post away, amazing dedication.

May your wife who lost her mom and your kids who lost their grandma find comfort and peace, and you of course also. I've expressed my feelings on death before, each day we wake up I believe we come one day closer to being reunited with the loved ones we've lost.

One of these days I would like to discuss your near-death experience with you, maybe over a cup of coffee, or something stronger.

Oh my gosh.I am sorry if I added to your stress by posting the jfk wmb.....I hope your baggage arrives safe and sound..it sucks when you have a wonderful vacation experience and the travel part turns into a nightmare....keep us posted...my fingers are crossed everything arrives safe and sound!!

If this were a snowstorm I would agree, but usually temps seem to be either consistent or a few degrees over even.
