I think your reputation number is broken, how did you manage to get a -7 (I upped ya to a -6 with a like)? There is no dislike button and I have figured out or correct me if I am wrong that every like ups your reputation, shame on no one (cuz I do not see how that happened) soul is great : )

Frank added it when he added the LIKE thumb near the quote box. Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Last nights EURO and Canadian runs just goes to show the potential that awaits us as we head into March. Many Mets agree that there will be a large slow moving cyclone somewhere along the eastern seaboard. The big question is where? My gut tells me we will see a 6+ event out of this with the potential for much more depending on the location of the low. Don't get hung up on the models right now; this is a very complex pattern and there will be a lot of different and bizarre solutions.Frank_Wx wrote:

Good to see something up on the board! Still plenty of time to get a big snowstorm up here.March could be the snowiest month of the winter again up here.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
am I right in saying extrapolated out the snow would all be east too or does it cut off like that? For a setup like this I'm def not gonna worry bout each model run when we get into next week especially late then we can start to take them more serious and start biting out nails lol.nutleyblizzard wrote:Last nights EURO and Canadian runs just goes to show the potential that awaits us as we head into March. Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
The potential of this pattern from 3-1 through 3-12 as the block starts to break down in teh latter part -3/4 days of this period is when we can see an Archambault event/storm. Link about her work.
http://www.met.nps.edu/~hmarcham/bio.html
These storms are usually big in nature. 2016 blizzard is the most recent example as the block broke down allowing the storm to traverse teh coast. Interesting to note the split flow in the PAC will bring the storms either across the southern tier or northern tier and then slied E and ESE. Those coming from the South will run into teh block and get stuck and retrograde inland. Interesting times ahead and only a week away LOLW

I am excited about not one but two potential biggies for the Northeast during this upcoming pattern. I am also concerned for the battering of beaches with astronomical high tides during the start of March, should storms meander. Needs to be watched CAREFULLY.

This is so typical of a March snowstorm in years gone by.The Catskills get creamed, the HV also but the areas S and E get diddly squat.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
well as u know this is far from what will or won't happen. Is this pattern at all similar to the March 2010 super noreaster? I believe it was 2010, we had a ton of rain and wind gusts to 70mph.docstox12 wrote:SoulSingMG wrote:jmanley32 wrote:gfs crush job northeast and nw of nyc, some spots see 3 ft! That rain/snow line is very similar to the Snowicane of Feb 25-26 2010. That storm saw all rain in Red Sox Suck and most of New England from Central CT and Mass. on east. on The western side, NYC received 21 inches, Orange County 35 inches and parts of the Catskills 5 feet.
I'm not saying this storm will be anything close to that or the rain snow line will be as depicted right now, but 7 days away as depicted on the Euro it's eerily similar.
Kudos to Sroc and Amugs for picking up on this potential this early in this transition several days ago. The models seem to be catching onto our experts. At least ther's something to watch for the next several days other than Mickey's spring phenology map.

Funny snow map there that has no chance of verifying. 11” in Manhattan and 0” on the Nassau Suffolk border.
I ask you folks a question.
Do you agree with me or not?
This pattern the last month is the worst I can remember in my lifetime. we all talk about 96 as the holy grail. We’ve had a solid month of way AN temps and very little snow during the coldest period climatologically of our winter. The snow that did fall melted within 36 hours and we’ve had storms every three days which if it were just normal temps would have dropped 3-4 FEET area wide. THIS SUCKS BIG TIME

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Good afternoon everyone. The first thing I'd like to say is thank you to Doc, Cp, Syo and Sroc for their condolences on the passing of my Mom and for their kind words and encouragement. Doc your right this board is like family to me. I know I haven't been posting much this season, but I've been going to Occupational Therapy trying to get my finger to bend and to try and desensitize it from feeling like I'm being shocked by a 220 volt hot wire every time I touch something. Unfortunately I'm having other problems from a misaligned pelvis. It causes extreme pain in one or both legs because it pinches the Sciatic nerve which makes your ability to walk very difficult or impossible.
I've been going to PT for that with the Therapist that rehabbed my shoulder after I had Rotator Cuff surgery. She's really helped me tremendously.
I was watching the Mets/ Professors at Penn State last night and they were doing there 12 day outlook and they were showing how in that period there would be 2 to 3 opportunities for a decent snow fall. Although they did say that it would be a complex set up for each opportunity. So KUDOS to Sroc, Mugs and the others on this board that said weeks ago that Winter isn't over quite yet.
I apologize if I posted this in the wrong thread, but I wanted to let the above mentioned that I appreciate their thoughtfulness and caring. Thanks you guys you are my family. Now bring on Winter PART II with a vengeance. I'M READY !!!!
