Bad news on Wright.He's having an MRI on a sore left shoulder of three weeks.If he's out an extended period, this season is finished.

Nice run against Miami and a win against Oakland all a memory now.Back in the hitting funk, three straight losses now.Hard luck DeGrom pitches well but these guys can never put up runs for him.

Good day yesterday.Campbell comes through subbing for Wright and Niese pitches a gritty game for the win.Best news is Wright not badly injured and won't be out too long.We're still in the hunt!

Gutsy game last night.After the closers blew the lead, comeback win in the bottom of the 11th.If we can take 3 of 4 from these guys we can move up the standings.Great seeing Davey back with that home run.Gee returns on Wednesday.Dice K pitched great.

Congrats to Danny Murphy for making the All Star Team.He's really worked hard and his hitting has been amazing this year.

Tuned in just in time to watch Morse blow Murph's drive to left for a double and open the door for a four run rally off hard luck Peavy.You could tell Peavy was real sore at Morse,LOL! Nice game by Degrom, he's been solid and steady.Nice work by Familia and Mejia to close the game.Love what i am seeing the last two weeks, playing great consistent ball against some pretty tough teams.

Was at the game last Wednesday where they blew the Phillies out 11 to 2.Nice blast by Duda that day.Glad they stayed pat at trading and kept Colon.If he does well the next couple of months, his value will be there at the off season.

Doc...going to the game today...another pitching duel....Colon is pitching! Going to have to dress for fall....the east wind is going to make it a little chilly!

Boy was it ugly today.....hard to see Colon's pitches, but it looked like he was throwing grapefruits.....and having all our 2nd string players in...Campbell, Recker, Flores....just ugly....

Love Colon but he's either got it or he doesn't.When he doesn't, he gets blasted.This happens when you play with the big boys.Giants have great pitching and are right in the hunt.

We've got to take 2 out of 3 against the Nats to even consider a playoff appearance.Phillie comes next and we should sweep or take the series if what the Mets are putting together is for real.

Two ugly series with the Giants and Nats.We cannot play with the big boys.Looking forward to next year.Hope Alderson can make a trade for a big bat in the middle of the lineup that can help us score runs.Just hoping to finish 500 this year.The way this team hits, that will be a miracle.

Collins blew that game yesterday.He let righty Black pitch against lefty Utley instead of lefty Edgin.Utlet drives in two.Wilmer Flores should have been removed for defense and Tejada put in.Flores failure to make a play kept the Phils alive.Also, Collins should have let Edgin pitch the ninth, especially with Mejia's sore calf anf Edgin blowing them away.Gary the announcer even mentioned that.Blowing a 6-1 lead on the last place club.UGH!

Baseball is amazing, you go from an absolute stinker of a day to a good one.Recker's home run, Niese pitching well and the best news is DeGrom's injury is just tendinitis and not a major structural damage issue.WHEW.....!

Fer crying out loud, these Nats have beaten us at Citi 23 out of 27 times.Disgraceful.9 1/2 games out.

Sorry to say it.Collins has to go.His last four years have sucked.Get Wally Bachmann up here.Somehow, he has these young guys running like a clock in Las vegas.

Looks like Collins will be back next year. Can't really agree that he's done a horrible job considering what has had for a roster. I do believe next year will be better. I'd sure like to see that shortstop down in the minors that got signed with the Marlon Bird trade last year. Boy it sure would have been nice to have him around this season.

If we don';t get in the playoffs next year with all those good pitchers and Alderson getting a good bat, then I'd fire him.

Doc, it starts from the top. The Mets have made the post season once since 2000, 1 time in 14 years is inexcusable for a New York team.

Yep.We had a chance in 2006 with the Minaya team but Beltran watched a curveball from Wainright strike him out.We could have beaten Detroit that year as St.Louis easily did.The Mets have never been the same since that game, some corrosive losing mentality has set in, yet to be broken.

Met's are in the WS roughly every 15 years, '69,'86 and 2000.We are due in the next few years.

There is a stigma leftover from that '06 loss, no doubt about it.

This abysmal Washington series of 6 games the last week, we won only one, is effectively the nail in the coffin for this season.We had a chance to win all 6 and get right up in the standings.It's absolutely disgraceful thjis performance against the Nats.Collins should be yelling and screaming his head off at these guys, a good kick in the butt is what they need!

Alderson and Wilpon better sharpen their pencils for a good trade off season for a guy who can hit consistently because this team is going nowhere with Collins and the status quo.

Any shred of a chance at getting in the playoffs was lost in the Washington series recently.Lost 5 out of 6.You can see how it has affected the team, hitting is below the dismal levels of early this year.Hoping to play a spoiler role now, nothing left for the Fans here except looking forward to next year.

The pitching staff has proved more than worthy as has the bullpen. Alderson needs to make wholesale changes with the bats. I'm tired of hearing how great the outfield is defensively. They need power. That said, Duda is shaping up to be quite the slugger. I just hope they don't rest on those laurels and expect him to be the only batter to hit more than 20 hrs on the season. Granderson has been good but you're not building around him.

There have been bright spots in this dismal season,Lagares hitting 270 and gold glove fielding,Duda developing nicely, D'Arnaud starting to hit.They will have to give up a young arm or two to get a certifiably reliable power hitter.That's a must.

Just going to enjoy the Mets playing a spoiler role.

Doc, they have this shortstop Matt Reynolds in Triple A that's batting .340 and supposedly is good defensively. Hopefully they get him up here in September and give him some reps.
