Bobby Abreu > Chris Young. Abreu has been great for the team. Bartolo Colon pitched another great game last night.

Abreu and Colon were great pick ups.Now St Louis, the big boys, not the little league Padres. In spite of terrible hittibng as you say, we are only 5.5 games back.

I think they brought that kid Travis up too quickly. He needs more time in the minors to build his confidence.Right now, I am very disappointed in his supposed "potential".

Baseball is 75% chemistry and this team does not have it.They fired the hitting coach but this new guy is not working out yet.

Hopefully d'Arnaud can build on that, get consistent, and come back up.

Terrible game last night.Bases loaded, one out, can't get a friggin' run in.Davey Wright in a terrible slump.

LOL, it takes a 41 year old pitcher to win a game for us.He even got a hit to help win the game.Good thing the way the rest of these guys are hitting.

Looking at Kansas City winning 10 straight.Read an article a few years ago predicting that great group of youngsters would come together some day and do this. Also Kershaw's no-no.Dodgers making a move on the Giants, cut an 8 game lead down to four.Yanks beating up Toronto.Yanks always in the running no matter what.

Great game by Wheeler, a three hitter 9 inning effort.Great to see this kid pitch a great game.He had to make good the one lousy run the limp hitting lineup put up.

Good news is Lagares almost ready to come back.Chris Young STINKS!

Mugsy, Oakland is a great team. You're lucky to enjoy them.Hope the Mets can give them a run for their money.

Nice to see DeGrom get a win.At least we have great pitching potential with Harvey, Wheeler and DeGrom.

Young was another example of how the Mets completely lack in talent evaluation for position players.

Agree on Young. He was A bust.

Yep, Kazimir will be hunting for bear as the Mets cut him years ago.The evaluation was that his mechanics would lead to repeated injuries.Yeah, right, here's Kazimir 10 years later mowing them down.Oakland has to know all of Colon's tricks as he pitched for them. It;s going to be agreat game.

d'Arnaud has the big league swing, and looks to be a potentially decent catcher. I think the confluence of NY spotlight and the ridiculous design of Citi Field gets in these ball players heads. Not that it should be an excuse though.

They have to hit more line drives there. The park is an ideal double-triple type.It does help the pitchers, though, keeping all those fly balls in play. Will be interesting to see how d'Arnaud responds to the demotion-promotion.

I remember people knocking the signing of Colon. He has been great this season. 8-5 with a 3.67 era.

Great win last night over the A's. 10-1 win. Colon has been great for this team. Good pickup by the Mets. Grandy is starting to catch fire. He hit a hr last night along with d'Arnaud and 2 from Chris Young. Impressive that they beat Scott Kazmir.

Yeah, Oakland must be ready to fry the guy that let Colon go,LOL.You're right, great game to watch.Thought I was watching another team with all those jacks and runs scored.Great to see d'Arnaud jack one and Grandy as well.Bobby O mentioned on the post game show the Mets aggressive swinging never let Kazmir off the ropes. Maybe our new hitting coach is starting to pull the right strings?Impressive win against the best team in baseball.

Felt bad for Mugsy, though, a big A's Fan at the game.Sorry, pal.

Doc, Thanks - you can blame Billy Beane for that - not letting Colon pitch game 5 against Detroit in the division series a big mistake but you live and die with decisions as such and we brought Colon back from the dead and look at him go - if he was with the A's he'd be 10 or 9-2 right now!!! It was a big mistake by us but last night you guys whooped and kicked our asses. I went  to tonight's game and first time to Citi Field - I was so impressed - 100x better than Yankee Stadium!!! Mets made a nice comeback but bases loaded and no outs and can get a run across - killer against a journeyman making his 2nd start in the majors thus far - not good. You guys are starting to turn things around at the plate and hopefully for you it will continue. Wheeler go bounced around tonight - some hard hit balls even for outs.

Kids caught a shirt and made their night. Best of luck Mets fans.

If anyone on here wants to go, there are still seats available....8/3 lower level left field seats under the overhang with access to the Ceasar's Club ( with A/C) and a Tom Seaver jersey tshirt for $42, they are $53 seats...playing the cubbies I think....

Bad news on Wright. He's having an MRI on a sore left shoulder of three weeks. If he's out an extended period, this season is finished.

Nice run against Miami and a win against Oakland all a memory now.Back in the hitting funk, three straight losses now.Hard luck DeGrom pitches well but these guys can never put up runs for him.
