The area is running between 1-3 AN temps so far in January. IMBY +1 temps with 10" of January snowfall. Snowpack that last over 1 week. Compared to last January this was mint. No complaints...

low of 38 currently 39* needle not moving much today. winds NE 13 gust to 20another grey day..but a brighter one..can you believe you have to gauge the day by the level of grayness..lol

Here in Albany, I ended up getting 3" of snow from the recent Sunday-Monday system.

January snowfall NW I95 looked to be fairly normal IMO. Along and SE of I95 BN and the NYC metro significantly BN.

As is stands 2.3" have fallen in CPK seasonal (all in January). Similar numbers on the other metro reporting areas. Many of these stations have not reported < 10" consecutive snowfalls seasonal totals since local record keeping began. In some cases over 150 years. That's unlikely to occur in many cases but on the table

Temps ran about 2-3.5 AN across the area

37* and cloudy here in Long Branch, exit 105 of the GSP. A handful of tiny falling snowflakes just escorted me from my car to my office door! cheers

I have picked up 15.5 inches this month so can't complain. Temps 3.5 above normal to date. Way better than December which had no snow and 7* above normal. It looks like first 10 days of February are going to be pretty boring. I hope things pick up after that because we will be running out of time.

Might be a bit of light snow this evening and overnight. If you are lucky the ground my whiten up for you.

Beautiful pictures,talt!!!
Elevation works wonders in these marginal temp events.Yesterday driving around doing chores, 100 feet or so above my property had mostly snow covered ground while my property was snow free.The mountains (hills) were white also.

32 degrees, cloudy , calm wind.
