As is often the case, heaviest band at the moment is just north of the mixing/changeover line.

This purple line is near freezing surface temps. I think if you are around this line right now it might be hard for this to turn to rain for the bulk of the precip. We'll see...

At the 925's the fetch is easterly (oval) instead of south easterly. I question how far north the 925's are going to torch. To me they will turn more north easterly as you can see them starting to pivot. I don't think this storm is trending as tucked as best as I can tell. Others may have differing thoughts.

Light snow in maspeth queens…otherwise known as the northern queens battlezone between cold and warm. Temperature dropped from 37 to 36 in last half hour with onset of snow through dry air. Dew point 30.4/wet bulb 33.8. Ground just partially wet…lets see in another hour when sun goes beyond horizon

To Heehaw’s point, winds slightly ENE in NJ. SE winds at southern Delmarva. If that persists, should help I’d think.

If this works for me I will owe it to the NAO first and foremost. Second 50/50 L, third the H in Quebec. No claims to victory by any stretch just yet but the synoptics give it a chance.

and anyone south if the purple line is go rain? If so, thats really far inland from what snow maps show thats even into the wsw areas north and east of me.

Ray really wet snow btw. Not surpised as close to coast this is eith go bust high or low, no middle ground. Time to see!
