Am I crazy or did I see lighting.
Icing is really piling on.
That's why we have the great, "CPcantmeasuresnow" here.
I like the great, Hi praise indeed Frank.
Looks like you did another great job. I had 7 inches as of 10pm.. Still 15 and snowing here but intensity has let up. You had orange county in the 6-12 and that's where we will be.
On to Tuesday.

That sounds a little more reasonable, but I'm sure it's at least a half to an inch shy, but for the zookeeper that's nailing it.

If I can get to 10 I'll be happy and then let the dry slot hit before the change to freezing rain. Weird storm, I'm gonna end up with what I was expecting but not how I was expecting it.
CP - awesome!! Up here we have measured 11" at 10:30 and snowing heavy still. SAid last night that we would have about 12+ and we will up here!! Temps are up to 18* - 4 * in the last 2 hours. crazy.
Mugs: I told you you'd make out better up there than we did, You're timing was perfect.

CP, with the 5" of snow Central Park got, it is now at 6.5" for the 2013-14 season, so it is now out of the bottom five.
So if we take into account that this is the 145th full snow season for CPK (starting with the 1869-70 season), it is now at 140th overall!

I'm surprised. CPK got 5 inches of snow. You sure you're measuring correctly?

Positive Frank, I'm only 5 blocks from the ocean. It never even covered the grass completely, can still see some green, and that was before the changeover. Now it looks like almost nothing happened. If it rains for another hour everything will be gone.

Well when a storm like this turns to rain much of the snow goes bye bye. That's just part of it. I'm in Bay Ridge. Raining pretty good but still have several inches of slush and puddles. Pretty gross.

Hell yeah I did!!! It was crazy! I was laying in bed and all I heard was the sound of sleet hitting my window from the wind then BAM! It woke my dog up as well and now he won't stop barking! So insane! That band came in and my totals rose an inch in a half hour!

That was the worst drive home ever, got out of work at midnight, it was pouring freezing rain. Then I had to fire up my snowblower and clear my driveway. My street looks like it hasn't been plowed in the last 12 hours Looks like I got about 6-7" of snow, hard to tell.

freezing rain has coated everything. temp just getting above 32.
I was just standing at my front step taking one last look at the snow and I hear that unmistakable pop of a large tree branch snapping in the cemetery across the street. Now the wind is increasing. I'm hoping that we don't lose power

7 inches in mt. Vernon that gives me 9 inches so far. went outside this morning and the the beautiful fluffy powder is gone. now its nasty, hard, cunchy slop. we almost made it thru. had about 4 hours of sleet to fz rain and then rain. overall a good storm. I love when it snows with cold temps. 0nly dec. 15th a lot more storms to track.

Good morning my good friends -
Mugs from afar reporting 14.5" (remeasured three different areas as per NWS standards) and now we have some lake effect snows that are moving in - I am so glad to read that we did well with this atorm and now are above our monthly averages - most of us that is - I believe - PS who won the prediction for the first snowfall >2" in NYC??
I will be leaving this hinterland or winter wonderland around noon to come back my abode in Hillsdale.
I am looking forward to this clipper and a couple of more storms around xmass.

We have a little over 8" here, but it looks like it was closer to 10 before all the rain hit last night. All that beautiful fluffy snow is now a sheet of ice.... So sad....

About 5-6 inches here. Hard to tell after the ice and rain. Great storm. We were fortunate given the bad pattern
