Those are sustained kts and the coast is 18-22 kts with higher gusts. Its not terrible but I imagine coming down may be a bit bumpy. But like the others say even if it is it will be clear and nothing to worry about.

But that is also 850 mb level. At the surface those gusts will not translate.

850mb winds are over 30kts sustained, if I am not mistaken. Not trying to argue you but I always thought 10m winds were surface.

Wait, no. 10 meters is different. 10 M means about 10 M from the ground. I'm not sure what 10 meters is in terms of feet.

Look at CT RI and MA 850hpa, dang, now those I know are the winds way up in atmosphere, Ryan Maue and I actually talked on twitter about this. Those translate down to about what the map you posted Frank. 10m winds in kts. Again if I am wrong feel free to correct me.

Yup, this is right. So 10M = 36 feet from the ground. So technically that would be the surface but I still take away a bit because the best winds translate when there is greatest instability, or precip falling.

Yea, probably 15-20 mph sustained and gusts near 30 mph. Wind chills are going to be in the teens. Ouch

IMO it will be higher and other places I have looked have gusts to 45mph, higher on LI, we will see. But either way gonna be like January dang.
