Nothing worse than a soaking rainstorm at 34 degrees.Hate that! Almost as bad as cold and DRY with snowstorms suppressed to the south.

This weather's at the top of my hate list, and we seem to have had it quite a bit this fall.

BTW, nice job making the site look "Christmasy" Frank.

The possible good news about the timing of this pattern is that maybe we have a better shot at a white Christmas this season. Often times when we have a very cold early/mid December ala 2005, the pattern breaks down just prior to Christmas, yielding the inevitable Grinch storm. People who grew up in the 60s were spoiled stiff with white Xmas's almost every year. I only remember one in my entire life, though Xmas of 2002 barely makes it (rain most of the day, changed to snow Xmas night). I really only count it if there's snow on the ground Xmas morning.

Some vague recollections of 60's White Christmases.......We had 8 or 9 inches the day before Christmas Eve in 1963 but Christmas 1964 was very mild.Winter didn't kick in until; January 1965, and it was brutal, snow/sleet every weekend.Those two stand out, the other circuits in my aging brain are fried,LOL!

Wait, I am supposed to see a mix today, that goes to rain? Hey at least its something frozen lol. I saw 90% chance of sleet and snow today on NWS and thought it was a mistake, temp here in the Bronx is 37.1, ALOT colder than yesterday that's for sure, nearly half. Borderline for some frozen precip but will go to rain. IMB its 37.9, interesting its actually cooler closer to the coast by .2 degrees, whattaya know.

So what if we relax thing for a bit - I'll take it and get ready for the reload come mid to later December! Mother Nature is throwing us a bone to catch up on sleep and rest and exams so let's do so and get ready as time progresses towards the seasonal winter months!

Temp is down to 30 here and snowing lightly. Sticking to grass and cars at the moment!
