Funny you mention that, cause for next season I plan on making two threads. 2014 Yankees and 2014 Mets. Lol

Thank you, Frank! That's very considerate of you because I know you are a Yankee Fan.

This way you Yankee Fans won't have to be bothered with any Mets topics.I know Nofo and Dunz are Met Fans like me, so the Mets section will be active.

I'll wait for the Mets section next year.

Best of luck in the coming games and the playoffs to your team.

Ditto for me, diehard Mets, Giants, Islanders, Knicks fan but I am also a fan of everything sports related including all New York Sports teams. Nothing wrong with a little crosstown rivalry though!! I always look forward to post season baseball but if the Yankees don't make it then I won't pay as much attention until the World Series.

Even though I've been partial to Penn State, I'm very interested in the progression of Geno Smith because one of my nieces attends West Virginia. I was able to go to the Pin Stripe Bowl last year, WVU vs Syracuse. So while I don't "root" for the Jets, I have a particular interest in watching their qb. While on that topic, I went to school with Scott Mersereau who ended up getting drafted with the Jets as a DE back in the late 80's. He had a decent career but an ankle injury ended up getting him cut so it ended abruptly.

Back to the original thought, Stox, it will be interesting to see how Alderson makes his big "purchases" this off season as he so professed a few months ago. So far he get's an F for the bullpen and F- for the lousy outfield.

Don't really enjoy pro football that much until the playoffs.I like college football a lot better.Classic game this weekend, Perdue vs Notre Dame.

I'll be happy to discuss Met's topics with you on the old Channel 7 board, which amazingly is still alive, or when Frank starts the Mets thread on this board next year.

Think ND will win but not by 21 especially at Perdue.

Pretty lousy second half of Giants football yesterday. Eli is reverting back to his old ways of chucking up into thin air and praying for a receiver to find it in triple coverage. Not that the entire game was on him but he has to control the ball better, very unlike a 2 time Super Bowl MVP. Myers has to make better plays, even with Baas back, the o'line has holes that you could back a truck into and the running game was virtually non-existent. If you want to count Jacobs 3yard carry and a td, well that's fine but can't expect much from him except blocking and some locker room morale, maybe

The defense was effective in the first half considering who they were up against. I'm not sure what's going on with Pierre Paul, he had 0 tackles, I thought the secondary kept decent coverage on the receivers and the linebackers looked ok, (this is the first half the I'm trying to extrapolate the positive out of).
The second half went completely awry. Deficient special teams, lack of blitz (until it was too late), and players completely out of position on both sides of the football.
I thought the Giants might have trouble but didn't expect a complete implosion. They have to go back and to basics, today.

Great analysis. Pretty much my thoughts on the game. That front 4 has been extremely disappointing this far starting with JPP. He clearly is not 100%. The pass rush was pretty much non wxistant except for a few fleeting moments in the second half. Every game has those small handful of plays that really shift the momentum. The pick at the end of the first half, and the freak int off the defenders foot in the second half that led to a broncos td via a short field are two that stand out right now. They really do seem to have abandoned the run. If I were Tom Coughlin I would spend the entire week working on the run. The good news is there are correctable problems. It's not a lack of talent on either side of the ball. Also the NFC East is still a work in progress so we shall see how the season evolves. Frustrating to say the least thus far.

Yes and adding to the fact that they did nothing during the off season to sign a running back putting stock in inexperienced players. They are now feeling the after effects of the loss of Bradshaw. His ability to pick up the blitz, decoy and block were insurmountable. Now with their backs against the wall, they're looking to a has-been in Jacobs to fill that position. I get why they didn't re-sign him, but they should have brought some experience in. It wasn't like none were available. So that's the weakest link. As you alluded to, the other problems are very fixable. And yes, they are as talented a team as any in the NFC East.

Well I really don't know what to say about the Giants. Everything I thought I knew about this team is out the window. I have followed them throughout the off season into the pre season, and into the regular season. I guess I can say that anything short of 3 strait wins and I think that Perry Fewell, Kevin Gilbride, and/or Coughlin are axed. Its a shame because this team has a ton of talent on both side of the ball. Clearly something is really wrong with this ship. :/

It was an ugly win for the Jets, almost gave it away...on a good note, the Mets swept the Phillies! Still playing hard to the end...gotta love'em. Glad they shut Wheeler down, not going to gain much with one more start.

This was puzzling to me as well. I can see it now- a few starts next season and then he will "feel" something In his elbow.

Yeah, I don't how to break it down either. 18 yards in the first half. They finally get a td and it gets called back. Don't know man.

Math, spry not a fan of the Yankees nor Mets but a true blue collar, low budget, small market team - Oakland A's. You all would love to have Bily Beane running your teams. I know I may catch shit for this on this pro Yankee board but this is what makes life great - Variety! Sorry Yankee fans have to wait till next year, if then.
