What a helluva career the guy has had though. 600 something wins, 3 Stanley Cups all over 2 decades. Agree though, should've gone out on top.

Frank, I know that in men's college basketball that the Louisville Cardinals are better than the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. But having Louisville beat them by 61 (92-31) must not have felt good at Rutgers...

PS: Maybe you can make a March Madness thread for the upcoming NCAA tournament.

Hey, California Chrome nailed the Preakness.I made 25 bucks on him in the Derby, but held off on the Preakness thinking he was a flash in the pan.Looks like the real McCoy now.I'll cover him in the Belmont for the Holy Grail (Triple Crown).

As seen in the first game, Portugal is a pretty weak team. I say weak not because of skill level, but because of how much chemistry and heart they have. If the US can get a quick goal early again and put pressure on the front 6 of Portugal, it can be a easier game. I think they will put Beasley on Ronaldo, he is our fastest option in the back. With a weakened defense from Pepe's suspension and the lackluster play from Alves in the center, we might have a field day going forward and be able to keep a much more relaxed and possession based game, one where the US would have much more control of the pace and movement going forward then we did against Ghana. Also, i think Bradley and Beckerman outclass Portugal's Midfield. We play a 4-4-2 diamond, and they play a 4-3-3, and sometimes a 4-3-2-1 with Ronaldo as the target striker. With that extra holding midfielder going forward we should be able to get a bit more creative in the final 3rd and attack through the center of the field targeting the weakened center defenders.
But, in this world cup, who knows, its the best one so far in my lifetime, anything can happen.

Great races in the new playoff model for the Major Leagues.KC and Oakland tied for chance of one game playoff.Pittsburgh and San Fran also in that same situation.Gonna love those one game playoffs! Would like to see some new teams with a world series shot, Baltimore, KC, Pitsburgh , the Nats.

Great month coming up!

I think Mattingly blew it big time not yanking Kershaw before he gave up all those runs to the Cards. Can't screw around in a five game series.

KC is amazing, three extra inning wins and up 2-0 on the mighty Angels. They have the chemistry, you bet, and are on a roll.

Glad to see the Giants beat the Nats.Hate the Nats.

Wondering if anybody here follows the playoffs and World Series. My Mom has an 86 year old die hard Yankee Fan who refuses to watch any playoff baseball if the Yanks are'nt in it.You miss out on a lot of great baseball with that attitude.

Yeah, love that KC team. Chemistry!

Pulling for the Dodgers this year as I want Don Mattingly to get that World Series ring he missed out on by retiring in '95.Don't look good with Kershaw getting beat up.Cards are a tough, experienced club as well as the Giants.

Stay tuned and glad you guys are involved in this.

Thrilling day of baseball. The San Francisco Giants (one out away from losing in the 9th), beat the Washington Nationals in the 18th. And the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals on a Matt Kemp home run in the bottom of the 8th. The Orioles and Royals(!) will attempt to complete sweeps against their respective teams on Sunday. I don't understand why people won't watch the postseason just because their team is not in it. I have been tuned in the the playoffs each year even though my beloved Mets have not been there since 2006.

Same as you,Math, Mets Fan here but a baseball fan overall who really enjoys post-season ball.

Incredible effort by the Giants last night! That's got to take the starch out of the Nats,LOL!

Pulling for Mattingly's Dodgers all the way.

Well, my,my,my!

KC and the Orioles sweep tough LA Angels and Detroit clubs.Even great Detroit pitchers couldn't do it.

These teams (KC and Baltimore) are red hot.Should be a fantastic next round for the ALC.Great baseball to come.

Hoping for a classic LA Dodger SFGiants matchup. That goes back to New York City Subway Series type games. If you listen real hard you might hear from the distant past....."The Giants win the pennant, the Giants win the pennant.....!"

Very possible.

Pulling for the Giants, my defacto team when I was a kid before 1957 (the old New York Giants).

Hoping KC makes it but Baltimore is a great club as well. That should be a fantastic series, KC vs Orioles.
