And it's official this November will now make 17 months in a row of above normal temperatures.
Can December finally break this ridiculous string? I'm not holding my breath.

Continues the the longest such streak ever. Previously was 14 straight set not that long ago in 2011-2012.
I saw a couple cherry blossom trees thats sprouting blossoms this morning, reminded me of last Dec. Found that to be very odd. 60 degrees and some much needed rain woke it up. Its needs a freeze (probably a few..or one really cold one) to completely shut down. Looks like it will take until around Dec 10 or so to flirt with below freezing lows.

It's amazing that the Heat Island has not had a day that touched freezing yet. I'm only 45 miles due north of the city and we've had 18 sub freezing mornings so far beginning with the first one October 11th.

I work about 10 miles north of the Bx, but sometimes it only takes a few miles to get into the big radational cooling differences. Technically it is a different climate zone.

Re: November 2016 Observations & Discussions
I still have hanging baskets out and the geraniums are doing ok...a little frayed around the edges, and for the last two days no heat on and the house is 70. I can't even burn wood. Maybe we could crowdfund a snow making machine and truck it around to each member's house and make some winter up. Where my other house is near exit 36 on the parkway in NJ, folks will be planting pansies and putting them outside in four weeks. That was normal 30 years ago and now I suspect they could be put out at the end of November. It was always a pretty sight to see life outside even before the forsythia bloomed. Something about pansies with some ice on them as if shrugging the winter off always was cheerful. What will we see five years from now?

November 2016 CPK Stats through the 11:51 PM update:
Temperature: 49.8 2.1 degrees above average
Precipitation: 5.41", 1.39" above average
There may be something added due the dropping of the temperature and some additional rain, but it was a warm November and the wettest November since 2006.

Odd, seemed fairly average around here at least, were past years warmer? Also hasn't seemed very wet except for this last storm, most of the northern part of this state still in severe drought as far as I know.

Compared to last November it is colder, compared to average the string of above average months continued.

Re: November 2016 Observations & Discussions
Most of the other climate stations besides Central Park had even larger departures from normal for Nov. LGA was 5th warmest Nov ever for example.
