Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Next week we have a dynamic set up in the works. This weekend we should start to see it thus time we have the uber block in west gland. Euro loves sniffing this out LR then backing off then bring in it back

Hope the EURO is onto something. GFS, JMA, and CMC are weak/OTS.amugs wrote:Next week we have a dynamic set up in the works. This weekend we should start to see it thus time we have the uber block in west gland. Euro loves sniffing this out LR then backing off then bring in it back

GFS had next weeks storm over the weekend. Something tells me we'll see it again after this storm pushes away.

Me too. I want to see a dynamic storm with a major block in place. That would make today's storm rather tame in comparison.devsman wrote:GFS had next weeks storm over the weekend. Something tells me we'll see it again after this storm pushes away.

NWS has major Nor'easter and snow from Boston North and East days 4 and 5. Hopefully we can move that thing down this way!!

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
John go on the LR thread page 13. Syo commented about the CMC as a model. That was my response to both of you.
It was actually NutleyB that first commented on this system on on Feb 1st pg 11 on the LR with The Aresian and myself involved.

Interesting model run of this mornings 6z GFS. The feb.8-9 storm is now a coastal instead of a cutter. Much colder/snowier result. Either the GFS is having issues with the MJO or its just a burp run. Frank any thoughts? Edit: Last nights EURO has trended towards a coastal as well.
by TheAresian on Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:00 am
I think that the original 8-9th system still cuts with the coastal being a new low
by sroc4 on Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:35 am
Guys nothing is over until its over. Keep monitoring the H5 progression to see if it's possible. It wouldn't be the first time a winter storm developed along a front in the wake of a strong cutter that potentially acts as a temporary block if there is a s/w digging into the conus. Anything is possible. I prob won't go into depth analyzing that however until we are entering the weekend.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
I had such high hopes for this winter. It seemed like most were predicting a snowy season for the interior and less for the coast. With 6 or so weeks to go, that has yet to be the case. Having said all of that, you guys were finally rewarded for all of your suffering.

Thanks, sroc. Last month was a heart breaker. Almost 3" of qpf and only about 6.5" of snow. That damn SE ridge. My daughter in SC has been loving it though.

TheAresian lives 80 miles west of Binghamton, to him Monticello is the coast.

Is there some connection between this board And EPAWAweather? I checked their site and they had Godzilla for their storm mode banner.

Yes, I use to work for them. I had the idea of a Godzilla Storm Mode banner. My brother created one for them. I guess till this day they use it.

Can we 86 the phrase "puking snow"??? I've seen it 100 times today and I cannot get behind any reference of puke, even if it is referring to snowfall rates.
