legend maxes out 14mm per hr is 5.5 inches snow per hr in the pink within the blue fo not mistake that for sleet. That is insane snow there. I've never seen pink on the models for snow. Go b tons thunder snow

The Feb 25-26 2010 Snowicane is number 1 at 35 inches.
The January 1996 Blizzard is number 2 at 34 inches.
I'd have to look for the exact date but number three was one of those storms in the 2000's we received 30 inches even. I'll check on that date.

Hey guys, last post was last one on the last page...frank posted earlier about where the low tracks in relation to va beach. Is it east, west, or over it?

These snow rates being shown may never have been seen by msny on here. I cannot recall seeing over 3 to 4 if it even got thst high. 6 inches an hr 60 plus mph winds I won't b able see my hand if I held it out.

Very unproductive day. Last period, we found out there was no school. I had one of my smart kids teach 8th period. She was good. I let the bday boy announce the snow day to the class and they went crazy. Then I showed them snow maps. I may have created a couple snow weenies.

Juno on LI dropped 30-39" of snow in Suffolk in 12 hours. 4-6" rates with thunder and lightning for 4 straight hours had people trapped in their cars for 24 hours on the LIE. Just a few years ago. How quickly we forget!

I think similar rates were seen in the Feb. 1983 Blizzard. I was very young, but I do remember it a bit.
