Also, have you noticed yet when shopping in the major grocery stores all the signs about supply chain issues, extreme weather and pricing fluctuations? It is becoming more prevalent and as I have harped on here for over a year food supply issues, shortages are coming and they may get pretty bad if not real bad. Why? Well, weather number one that has decimated some crops - South America looking at it lost its 60% of its Soybean crop and wheat is down by 12% as well. The bigger issue upcoming is teh fertilizer - Russia and Ukraine control 30% of all fertilizer, potash, phosphorous and insecticide agents and the worst chemicals of all 'Round Up" or the newly branded glyphosate which is round up in another form:
Glyphosate
Ranger Pro with 41% Glyphosate (same active ingredient as Roundup) is a complete broad spectrum non-selective post-emergent professional herbicide. Ranger Pro is the generic of Roundup Pro, and is equivalent and just as effective as the name brand, only much less expensive.
These are short in a big way and if this continues then we can see bigger worldwide food issues come the fall. Make suggestion is stock up on your canned goods, grains and pasta (flour), dry foods cellar like my grandparents had.
already done a lot of that and warned family and friends again.(they rolled their eyes..because i told them to stock up in Jan2020 and rest is history)I am looking at canning a bit as well.. jars were a little hard to find..but they came back into stock..I read that farmers are planting less. Other shortages as well going to get worse. Maripol was the location of one of the plants and Odessa the other.. that produce Neon..and we all know about Maripol. They said those plants closed right after the war started..who knows if the factory in Maripol is still standing. Ukraine is the supplier of 40-50 percent of the worlds neon.(another large producer is China)..Another reason Ukraine has to win! so more chip problems to come. Crazy times ahead.

Never say it can't happen because it has and has again recently and will again n the near future too.
Today marks the 40th anniversary of one of the largest late-season snows in Tri-State memory.

LOL, well, now you did it Mugsy, so I must bore everybody with my story of that day.
Tuned into the Weather Channel back when it was a good station and the announcer then stated.."we have the rarest of situations today, an April Blizzard". It wasn't too bad when I opened my office at 8 am, but it started coming down heavy shortly after and cancellation calls started .When there was 3 or 4 inches with heavy wind blown snow, I figured I had to get the heck out of Dodge while I still could. Was driving a 1977 Ford Granada with rear wheel drive.Left around 11 am and just barely got home to Mahwah, about 2 miles up the line.Roads got real bad fast.CP remembers all this especially how cold it got afterwards!
Just can't grasp how 40 years flew by.Seems like yesterday !

I remember walking to grade school in this storm (accumulations were less where I was living at the time (I think we had 5-6"), but still was significant snow for that time of year) and many baseball openers being cancelled.

Good, glad you enjoyed .I was born in Manhattan in 1950 and lived there until 1956, so these busses ,old cars and water trucks are in my memory,LOL.
Old timers vividly remembered this storm and I spoke to many before they passed.

Trifecta Nina = 3rd year in a row we have a Nina state of ENSO.
Very cold episodes once winter settles in.

Welcome back man! Was telling Janet I think we need another jersey Shore get together.
The only meetup I saw Ryan at was the one at Mustang Harrys on January 10th, 2015. This was the one when we were in a cold/dry pattern but Frank mentioned that in two weeks time, we would see things change. Right on cue, January 24th was when the snow threats came in numerous waves through the end of March. Of course, we struggled to hear ourselves as there were football games going on. Despite that, we had a good time.
Ryan was poised to be at the meetup at Jenkinson’s on June 14th, 2015 but couldn’t make it as he got called it to work. It’s too bad too because the gorgeous weather at that event held up until after it was over (recall the pouring rain hours later).
It would be interesting to potentially have a meetup this summer. The last in-person meetup we had was March 7th, 2020 in Morristown, NJ, right before the world shut down. I say in-person because we did have a virtual meetup on December 15th, 2020 when we discussed the winter storm that was set to happen the next day.
We’ll just have to see how things unfold.
By the way Ryan, Happy Birthday!

Oh yeah! I remember this like it happened yesterday. Here in Deer Park I measured 12 inches of wind whipped snow. The temperature a been well up in the 40's before the storm moved in and then BOOM iot just starts snowing real hard and the tempeature plummets! Great storm.
That said, now I want nice warm weather!

Absolutely a historic blizzard that lasted for two straight days. I.mean raging blizzard with 50-60 mph wind gusts, 8-11 foot drifts. Totally paralyzed the region.
On another note Pink Full Moon tonight.
And the sun is going off lately with CME and Solar Flare ejection.
