Re: Banter Thread 7.0
Frustrating of course since we have a few misses and we've been head faked by our models a few times. Time will tell what this will look like in 2 months from now - over normal, normal or below normal is teh question?

I've seen a lot worse and it's good to see the beaches and DC area getting some love. It takes one well timed event to change that distribution dramatically. So far we have not been lucky...

I don't see us getting a good winter (snow total doesn't mean jack if its from only a few storms to me) anymore. I rather go sit on the porch with my radio!

But for those of us that love the pain - any long term clown maps to tease us? The clinic is too far of a commute right now.

I refuse to stay up for the EURO at 1AM from now on or the GFS at 11:30 anymore - nothing changes at 6:15AM when I get up so ..........
I am still believer in a crippling snowstorm for the NYC Metro region this winter as bleak as it may seem. My call for this past weekend was......just a bit outside as teh great Bob Ucker would say - 400 miles is nothing in the atmosphere of this planet LOL!

Believe it or not, I do haha I work nights, so when I work I usually don’t get to sleep until between 4-5am lol usually wake up between 10-11am, although the last couple days I’ve been sleeping in since I’ve had days off from the gym haha
And yeah, we did get our big storm during the period of interest, but we just missed the snow.

The data, satellite imagery, cross section Pentads of atmospheric games and visuals all show this Explosion was just below Pinatubo of 1991 which caused and cooling of the planet by a. 5 C. Remember 92-93 winter? Culmination of March Superstorm???
IF we get more of these VEI 4 and anotherb4 well you can draw some edumoocated (educated but pronounced in Paterson as this) guess.
Lastly, the only Volcano in recorded history to result in a TOTAL pacific rim tsunami. Atlantic island Indian are due up....not if but when!!!!!
If it doesn't esnt effect me...it is not to be!!
IF it DOES EFFECT ME.....well it is to be!!
Time will tell.
Major EQ do up as well and Pacific ring of fire is primed - West Coast of USA, - not if but when.

THIS WILL HAVE A COLLING EFFECT 6-18 MONTHS down the road by about .3 Celsius. I have read and watched papers and videos so far and the new reviews are starting to SLOWLY come out but you won't see it and why?? Doesn't fit the agenda.

Want to take a moment to compare last 2 eruptions of Tonga #Volcano. Can infer ash plume hgt comparing Bt of IR/WV to near radiosonde profile.
— Philippe Papin (@pppapin) January 15, 2022
1/13 eruption got to ~15-20 km aloft.
1/15 eruption (today) possibly >30 km! Deep Stratospheric injection likely given sat signature. pic.twitter.com/Q1JSI1IHIr
You can actually start to see the westward propagation due to stratospheric easterlies on one side of the plume where the BTs are warmest (-30 to -50C).
— Philippe Papin (@pppapin) January 15, 2022
Note colder east side though & this plume portion appears stationary or expanding west, possibly w/ flow below the tropopause. pic.twitter.com/KPjq1jlvOA
