Tomorrow looks like another scorcher, flirting with 100 degrees in spots. But, less than one-month until meteorological Fall. Doesn't feel like it this week, but summer is starting to slooooowly wind down. The earlier sunsets should start to become even more noticeable in the next three or four weeks as they begin to gradually encroach upon our evening activities.

My thermometer has been taken over by ASOS in Newark (Newark Airport that is). It is reading 100*, in the sun since my 60' oak died that it was under, and 117* heat index

It's cooler down the shore, haven't hit 90* yet and the southern breeze feels good coming off the water. It is muggy, but at least it's not over 100* heat index.

At least some of us got some decent rain last night - little more than half an inch here but others upwards of 3 or 4". Jealous!

Some significant changes are amis by the time we hit the weekend. Here are the current Dew Points vs the weekend. For reference on how it "feels" outside:
DP in the 50's to low 60's=wonderful
DP in the low to mid 60's=tolerable
DP in the mid to upper 60's=miserable
DP in the low to mid 70's unbearable
For the record this scale is my subjective interpretation only. lol Obv its ALL relative

75 degrees, mostly sunny, heading over 90 again.Had a brief, heavy shower last night, the "splash and dash" kind.Showers and T storms the next few days then wonderful weather coming.Like that old Alka Seltzer or some aspirin commercial used to say "relief is on the way"!

Yeah, it seems if we can get through the next two or three days, we should have some relatively pleasant late-summer weather for a few days starting Friday. I'm sure we'll see other hot days in the next several weeks, but maybe this will be the last of this "multiple days of high-90s" stuff. Fingers crossed.

Heavy shower an hour ago, then the sun came out.If I put a chair in my driveway, I have a sauna.Very muggy.As I type, another heavy shower.

Amazing how many storm systems this year have just vanished when reaching NNJ. I'm watching yet another system just dissipate into dark clouds and a strong breeze.

Mid 80's are going to feel wonderful. The dews get crushed this weekend will feel like early autumn at night for the rural areas.

Many years around mid August we get a nice cool night as a harbinger of the coming Fall.Calling for mid 50's at night this weekend.

Still HOT today.. 86* real feel 89*..BUT .better than the real feel of 105* while we were taking our college tour on Monday at Lehigh..lol...so happy Dc is supposed to be cooler tom and Friday!! Last of the college tours!! WHOO HOO.

Wow, Mom, Lehigh, nice campus.My old Frat at Fairleigh Dickinson played in a basketball tournament there in 1972.The Frat houses there are amazing well funded by Alumni.Well, 50 years ago anyhoo,LOL.

It was like a sauna here in Seaside Park yesterday. Capped it off with a tremendous amount of rain and lots of ctg lightning. Almost like a tropical storm was moving through! Today the wind was more off the ocean, which is still cold despite the reports of 70* temps, so it felt quite cool up on the boardwalk. Great day!

Those low 50's will be nice Damian. I have huge acorns dropping off my oak and the usual very early Maples have a few orange and red leaves.This lower temp weekend and the shorter daylight hours should kick off some more early trees with a little color.
