December 17th-18th Final Snow Map
I took away the 3-6 zone, but isolated 4+ amounts are possible in southern New England. There was not enough evidence to convince me to keep that zone on this map. Quick hitting system here with high-ratio snowfall. Your typical clipper. It will "bomb out" a bit near the BM which will throw some heavier bands back into NE NJ, NYC, and into SNE, that's why they are higher.
Timing:
Start: 7 am
Heaviest snow: 9 am to 12 pm
End: 2 pm
For Wednesday, I think it will just be some snow showers. No accumulations expected, maybe a coating. I think southern areas have a better shot Wednesday morning.

Agreed Frank. Bombing out at the benchmark isn't gonna do most of us any good. Maybe NYC and east catch an additional inch from that maybe 2 additional on Eastern LI.
Looks like a general 1 to 4 like you said. Anything West of NYC I'd be surprised to see more than 3 inches, despite what the NAM may see.

I'm seeing 2-4. Btw does anyone know where news 12 is stationed out of? Their temps are always like 5-8 degrees off when they give their forecast. And not just for my area. It's hard to give a 5-7 day forecast of an entire state. That's why I don't get them. Are they more committed to one area more than the other?

Not discounting your expertise and you are probably correct but the 6GFS says otherwise - 2+" for the NYC met area in this run/map

If it weren't for boundary layer issues (AGAIN) for LI id go with 3-5+ for LI. Since there is ur map is about perfect.
