Artificial Islands Proposed to Protect Shorelines

Has anyone seen this? Interesting idea could work.

That's very interesting. Would it effect the beaches in any way though? Some people may say it will look ugly and take away from the nature of the shore, but if it saves lives, go for it

Money down the drain.They think a few Islands will help if another Sandy comes? The Jersey Shore already has barrier Islands, LBI, Sea Bright. I've seen the Feds pumping sand on those Islands to the tune of billions and when a monster storm comes, it's right back to where it started again.They never should have been built on to begin with to let nature take it's course.

However, if it is done, at least the money will be spent here in the USA and provide jobs for the men doing the work.My opinion is in the absolute minority on this and I'm sure they will give it a try.
