Tom this looks like a fantastic read. Heading over to school now to do a project, will give it a good read tonight.

Tom,
WOWWA what a read - excellent in depth analysis - I love the section on the sun and the ssw - very interesting to me since I personally believe it is a huge factor in our weather that often gets overlooked. thanks for sharing.

Finally had the chance to read it Tom. It was an excellent write up. I specifically enjoyed your discussion about the Stratosphere and Analogs. I agree with the ones you have chosen, the interesting one being 03-04

Thanks man. Should be an interesting winter. I'm not sure I've ever seen such robust agreement from virtually everyone on a winter forecast. We're either all going down with the ship or mass verification. If the former occurs, I / we need to seriously re-examine my long range forecasting methods.

Fascinating read.
I don't know where or how guys like you, Frank, Sroc etc; learn this stuff but it's a college course in a forum thread everytime I take the time to study the in depth write ups some of you guys do.
As a weather neophyte, thanks.
