Now that the sulfur of the Met hater has left our site (for now,LOL), I am happy to post that Noah Syndegaard outpitched Kershaw for a 2-1 win last night.Good thing as the Nats and Atlanta both won.

Lucifer returns.

Mets explode for three runs today but still go down to defeat. What a shame to waste all that offense today.

Trade a pitcher already and get some offense. I'll give you Chris young for Matz?

Nope, Young only hits for you guys and not us,LOL!

Harvey was not as sharp as usual but there are some minor stirrings of hitting with Duda and Flores.

You are right about the trade but Alderson is anal with the young pitchers and he says nobody good is available.Only guys like Zobrist, another aging wreck utility guy batting .260.Wouldn't give young talent up for that. These aging wreck plug ins usually crap out.Remember when you guys traded two young talents for Lance Berkman? Another aging wreck disaster.

In my day of baseball, the 1960's, a guy over 35 was shot and the decline started rapidly at age 30.

CP, I'll try a plug in the general sports talk thread to get more Yankee Fans to keep you company on the Yankee Thread so you don't have to cross the tracks and go slumming here, LOL! This is the "Island of Pain" (Great Charles Laughton film of the 40's BTW)!

Murph is the key piece we got back, he was doing great when he got injured.Cuddyer also a mess with Duda. Those two guys HAVE to get back on the beam if we want to stay in this.No telling when D'Arnaud returns, he's still in a cast and Wright is doubtful this season if at all.Murph at third relaxes Tejada, the natural shortstop, and Flores, a much better second baseman. That shows in their better hitting.

Another great performance by Matz. In his 2 starts, he is 2-0 with a 1.32 era. He is not only doing well on the mound. He is also contributing at the plate. He's a good hitter.

Mets 2015 Season - Page 12 72u4jb

Great win and really nice to take the series against the Dodgers. Flores is heating up. He is 10 for his last 14 at the plate. Grandy is also doing well. Cuddy is a big disappointment. His average is now below .240. It was also nice to see Murphy get a couple of hits. All this team needs to do is hit. If they start to hit and play like today, they will be a dangerous team with the great pitching that they have. Looks like the Nats are about to win against the Giants. The Mets are still in it with the division and the wildcard. This is going to be an interesting summer for sure. Lets go Mets.

LOL. Collins can use Matz as a pinch hitter.Knew Cuddyer would be a bust a la Jason Bay.Can't stand these trades for aging players. At least the Granderson trade is working better. When a guy is comfortable in his defesnive position, he relaxes and hits better like Flores.Hope Collins keeps this infield intact and these guys DON"T GET INJURED!

Willie Randolph turns 61 today. He was a good manager for the Mets. He was the manager from 2005-2008. His record was 302-253 . In 2005, record was 83-79. In 2006, it was 97-65, In 2007, it was 88-74 and in 2008, it was 34-35 before he left.

Wow great win tonight by the Mets. Niese pitched a great game. He has been pitching pretty good of late in his last few starts. Mets got 3 runs tonight in the 9th inning. The heros were cuddy, kirk and monell. Familia with a 1-2-3 inning. He has become a great closer. He should be in the all star game. With the Nats losing, Mets are now 3.5 back. Giants have lost 7 in a row. Lets go Mets.

A resurgence has occurred coinciding with my posting and mocking of the Mets hitters. I believe a thank you is in order by all mets fans on this thread.

BEcause of this unintended consequence I will never post again here.

LOL, CP, think I'll try posting regularly on the Yankee board with the intended consequence of jinxing them into oblivion.I put a major maloccia on the Yanks after they beat the Mets in 2000 in the series and it has worked beautifully! Only one World Series win (2009) in 15 years, which for the Yankees is pure disaster!I intend living to 100 so my curse shall remain.....

This is really frustrating because this team has great pitching. This team would have over 50 wins right now if we had legit hitting. Failpons don't give two shits about this team which really pisses me off. Another snoozer last night.

Yeah, how come a guy like Babe Ruth, who never exercised, was overweight, smoked cigars, ate buckets of hot dogs, drank bath tub fulls of beer and was messing around with hundreds of women, never got injured. I Remember a picture of Roger Maris in the clubhouse sitting on a table smoking a cigarette. He went through the whole 1961 season hitting 61 home runs without an injury.

Keith mentioned these kids are nuts with weight training.Who knows, that, plus what Janet mentions, poor training and coaching techniques.

It's a shame about Matz but now Harvey will not have to bitch about the 6 days of rest which he says is screwing him up.

Reports are stating that he was pitching through an injury in his last start. If so, fire Terry, Sandy and the training start. It's amazing how fragile these ball players are. I have never seen so many players get hurt like they have this season. It seems like they are made out of plastic.

Wow, what a performance by Noah Syndergaard. He went 8 innings, 1 run, 4 hits,2 walks 13 strikeouts. The 13 strikeouts was a career high for him. The Mets won 4-2 over the D backs. Familia also recorded his 25th save. With the Nats and Cubs losing, the Mets are now just 2 games back for the division and the wildcard.

Nice to see Duda and Cuddyer wake from their slumbers.Yes, a gem by Syndegaard.Glad to see him getting better as Matz is down for who knows how long.Wouldn't be surprised to see Matz shut down for the season as that's how injuries affect the Mets.

Nevertheless, as you say Snow, we are still in pretty good shape standings wise and it's all due to the pitching, starters and relief.
