Well, let's hope they are right, but I don't think they use any of the scientific weather model data that our resident meteorologists use.By October 15 we should be seeing some more data as to a hint of what winter will bring here.Last year I had 84 inches of snow up here in the HV, so I worry about mean reversion, as normally there is 50 inches here.Too early to tell.

Euro Dec-Jan-Feb monthlies have come out for the upcoming winter. Below normal temps for eastern U.S. with above normal precip. February looks downright gorgeous with the coldest temps with an active east coast storm track.

DT going gangbusters with his winter forecast. He's predicting 200% snowfall totals for the entire I-95 corridor!

Dave Tolleris is a Meteorologist. He can be combative at times to his viewers, yet he always gives a good presentation with his forecasts. You can check out his 2018/19 winter forecast on youtube.

Re: 2018-19 winter outlook
I lived right next door to Joe Bastardi in high school. He was a year behind me. I mean his town, Linwood, was right next to my town, EHT. He wrestled. I remember watching him. We went to different high schools. I have to say I have followed him since late 70's and I was most impressed with his hitting the nail on the head with the 2013-14 and 14-15 winters. I think he has nailed other stuff, too. When he hits the ball, it goes over the fence. When he misses, he misses. I don't know much about his reports now because of the paywall. I do know he thinks in about ten years, the winters will be like late 70's winters and those were rough ones. Here is a link to a video where he talks about this winter (for about 15 minutes). I found his use of antilogs to be interesting. Bless his heart, he looks tired. However, he does make good points in my view about 2002 and now, including the fact both years had major hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. So it is interesting to hear him say Dec through early April: cold, snow with some intensity.
