OMG I can't watch Murphy anymore.....he makes so many errors and his head isn't in the game....I don't care how good his bat is...he is giving up more runs than he is contributing.....UGH

Great pitching today by Degrom. His only mistake was a 3 run homer to Ryan Howard. He struck out 11 batters. I really like what I am seeing from this kid. Mets won in the 14th.

He's making bonehead mistakes on the bases and can't turn a double play. His defense has reall taken a turn for the worse.Thinking we need someone better who can still hit.

Agree 100%.He's a lot better than Montero at this point.Could be a great addition to the rotation of Harvey, Wheeler, Niese and Gee.

Excellent. These are great games for the team going the distance and winning. My only concern now is Lagares.Hope the ribcage injury is not severe.

Just over the wire Juan Lagares is on the disabled list with strained intercostal muscle.Tough break for him and the club. The Chris Young acquisition looks real good at this point. They called up the kid den Dekker that they just sent down,LOL.His head must be spinning.Great opportunity for him.

Mets take 4 out of 5 from the Phillies and improve to 9-1 at Citizens Bank Park since last season. They are now just 1 game under .500 and 3.5 out of the division. Talk about a weak division lol. Bartolo Colon pitched excellent. I like how he locates his pitches. It is fun to watch him pitch.

Saw Colon at Citi last Wednesday pitching a three hit gem into the eigth inning vs Pittsburgh. Incredible for a 40 year old man,Somehow, his mechanics and body allow him to keep going. He does have great control.

Flores grand salami! 11 runs.I'm in shiock,LOL. Yep, the division is weal but now we are back in the chase.

Terrible loss last night.Wheeler was dealing but was taken out in the 8th because of his pitch count at 107. What happened when they took him out? A homerun in the 8th off of Josh Edgin. Terrible choice. I would have kept him in for the 8th or I would have put in Vic Black instead of Edgin. Terry put Black in right after Edgin gave up the homerun. What does Terry do in the 9th? He put in Rice instead of leaving Black? WTF. He is losing this team. The Mets had a lot of chances to break this game open, especially leaving the bases loaded with 0 outs in the 3rd. If this team wants to go somewhere, they need to hit. The pitching is there but the hitting is not. A trade needs to be done asap because they are still in it ( 3.5 in the division and 2 back for the wildcard ).

Edgin has been pitching extremely well, it was just one mistake pitch which seems to be happening a lot to the pitchers. Stranding men on base has been a problem all year, maybe move Wright and Murph down in the order....and speaking of Murph, he has given up more runs due to his lack of fielding talent than he has scored.... but we are still in it and that's what counts (for now!)  Wink

This game was lost when they had the bases loaded and no outs and couldn't bring in a run.Murphy bonehead baserunning blunder cost a run.

This team has the pitching but the hittng is horrible.Until that changes, forget the playoffs.

Love Frank's word from the Yankees post and it describes the last two games with the Cubs......PATHETIC!!!!!!

Again, twice the bases loaded and no runs scored. We are something like 6 for 60 with the bases loaded.Definitely not a playoff team if that keeps up.

Swept by the team with the worst record in baseball.I feel like I was put in a time warp back to 1962.Expected us to at least take 2 out of 3 against this club.Something just very wrong with this team , manager, coaches, GM and Wilpons.

Oh, and I forgot to mention...PAAAAAAAATHEEEEEEEEEEETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bullpen blows yet another pitching gem by the starters. We have a league leading 15 losses by the bullpen. They were criticizing Collins for taking Niese out.Don't know about that.Bottom line, the Giants set up man and reliver shut down the Met offense anyway.

Looking at the Giants dugout, you see chemistry, lot's of enthusiasm and congratulating. They are playoff bound again for sure.

At least we have the Phils in the basement, they are actually worse than us this year.

Who did Mets draft this season in the draft? Hopefully some hitters. They can put together a nice rotation with Harvey, Wheeler, Gee and DeGrom next season

Colon pitched another good game. Nice to see. Thank god Travis has been demoted. He hasn't been doing anything at all. I really think it's time to fire Terry and other people. This team looks dead. I am getting tired of seeing them leave plenty of men in scoring position.

I was listening to the draft the other night, sounded like a handful of pitchers, some lefties and a couple of position players. There was a shortstop in the mix.

Abreu and Colon were great pick ups.Now St Louis, the big boys, not the little league Padres. In spite of terrible hittibng as you say, we are only 5.5 games back.
