Got maybe 2 inches here.Radar looks good for areas south and east, but this thing is moving fast.No way we reach 4 inches from what I see on the radar so far.The storm will really have to intensify and kick back snow to produce 4 inches. Not seeing that.

Snow is starting to fall again along with the Market in midtown Manhattan. Based on NOAA Mt. Holly radar the precip shield is really starting to fill in northward. We shall see.

LLC, or low level center, is getting ready to form in eastern pa or central nj which should make radar explode. Rain expected along jersey shore and areas south of central nj, with snow in northern nj. Some rain could mix in around NYC area. Long Island should remain snow on north shore, but rain likely to mix in south shore.

Snowing moderately in Hanover in Morris County. Busy road outside my office is totally covered with cars driving very slow.

Any idea when it might stop? Need to drive to Wayne this afternoon.

Clippers are the worst. I talked to a professor in school once at Rutgers New Brunswick in the Meteorology sector, and he told me these type of short waves that travel vastly through the jet stream and eject out to form a low pressure system along the coast are almost impossible to forecast due to their volatility.

So far though, things are going as suspected. I got about an inch earlier this morning. Most people should reach the 2-inch forecast. Next time, I may not even do a snow map for clipper storms and just nowcast them.

Snowing moderately here now.

Right you are Doc, moderate snow now. 16 Degrees too, would be a shame to waste all this nice cold air.

Yep, that's the biggest shame in winter. To have nice cold air but no moisture for snow.

Can't wait to move up to Monroe for next winter.HV beats Mahwah by 20 to 25 inches every year ,colder better ratios, elevation.

In the Bronx now snowing at moderate clip. Twc future cast shows a heavy band filling in around 3pm. Think this is accurate?

Sabamfa Roads in Wayne were clear at 10 this morning with about half an inch. The hill on Ratzer was clean. I hope it stays that way till later when I get home.

Ok thx that's kind of hard to Guage here the visibility is Def lower than normal but not sure how far. I was merely asking if the sudden pop up of precip on twc at 3pm future cast will happen regardless of intensity. The colors indicated to me it wouldn't b light.

Your right. Now they are saying steady snow until evening.Possible mix with freezing rain and sleet at the end near NYC.

Maybe it took longer to get organized. It did start later than forecast. They had said 3 AM yesterday and it wasn't until 5:30 by me.
