Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
About the two storms for next week will temps be an issue ? Will temps be lingering in the 30s or will it be cold enough to stay away from slop

I'm not trying to be a bitch. But I find it really irresponsible of a MET to give an 'absolute'..EVER..four days out before a potential threat. Especially given this season and the models' lack of ability to pick up on systems correctly until two or less days out. He is suppose to inform the public of potentials, not give us absolutes as if he is Miss Cleo.

Exactly Soul. I said to him: how can you be so sure? each storm this season has developed, fallen apart days before only to reorganize.
He wrote back: That's not true. Model conditions came together & they developed or they didnt. Not this time
I then said: Models have been inconsistent at best this year. And that is where it stopped

Soul whether you agree with him or not doesnt matter at this point. His degree and experience has earned the right to forecast how he wants. If he feels that confident this far out good for him. If he ends up being wrong he will be the first to admit it. He is a good guy. Please no more bashing. Posts bashing him are now being deleted

To honor your battle against meterological absolutes I have made Miss Cleo my avatar.
And if we get a phased storm Monday she gets to stay til spring.

No one is bashing him. We are simply stating that he is being irresponsible by giving an absolute of no storm.

And SROC, it is completely unwarranted and wrong of you, quite frankly, to tell me what I should and shouldn't say (in a respectful way, mind you) to someone who the public listens to for their own safety really. This is America. We have what's called freedom of speech. If you're unable to decipher between a respectable encounter holding a MET accountable, vs. 'bashing', that's your problem. Not mine.

I'll 'move on' when I deem it's appropriate. Who do you think you are? Lol. How old are you? You've gotta be a dad or something but listen man, you're not my father. Don't speak to me that way.

Not looking to start trouble especially since i love this board but.............How is this considered bashing? Just part of a discussion, talking about a conversation he had with Bill and how he disagrees.

Listen my friend. I am on your side regarding TV personalities hyping, or stating nothing is irresponsible. The rules of this forum clearly state no bashing of meteorologists. SOME, not all of what you are saying is bashing him esp because you are singling him out specifically...Whether you agree or not. It is my job under the rules of the board set up by Frank to not allow certain stuff. Whether YOU like it or not I am asking you to please move on. Your point has been made.

Alright enough guys, this is why the 7online board fell apart, no more posts unless they are strictly about this storm, it's done.

Cheers
Now let us, in the good spirit of this board, gently slide back over to the models, where we last left our forlorn low somewhere SW of the benchmark, hoping for a move NW.

He must really be confident of his analysis then.Personally, I agree with you, there has been very last minute things happening all winter that have casted major doubt on any model analysis 3 or 4 days out.I think the guys who design these models better plug in new data to get better predictability.

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
YOU need to re-read the forum rules and YOU need to be clear about what bashing IS before you BASH me for BASHING when I'm NOT. Go read every other thread on here! We ALL mention different METS specifically during one storm or another, say things like 'oh come on , you gotta be kidding with that snowfall map', etc etc etc.
If this is indeed a meteorology FORUM, you're now trying to scare its members into not speaking at ALL about pro METEOROLOGISTS? You need to get your facts straight on the difference between appropriate & inappropriate conversing, my friend. Because your claims are ridiculous. I'll send Frank a private message about how 'bashing' I'm being to see if he agrees.

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
If I choose to hold a MET accountable in a respectful way, I will do it again on here without the blink of an eye.
I will NOT be bullied on here. By anyone. It is wrong.
NOW we can move on. :-)
