Upcoming week doesn't look too bad. Threat of rain late Wednesday into Thursday, but temps probably in the low to mid 80's. It could get humid at times though.

Sure is! Humid as all heck out here in the Bronx! Hoping may fuel some decent storms later. I know non-severe but I will take any good boomer.

Frank question, as has been stated before by you I believe and others along with other mets the SST along and up to our area is way aboive normal. With the lack of tropical activity seeming to be for quite the distant future at this rate do you think they SST will continue to warm and in maybe August or Sept. we may be under a bigger tropical threat from storms that develop off the east coast? I remmeber you saying something about hybrids and or tropical subtropical but was just curious. To say for sure the pacific is poumping storm after storm on the models, they may go through the list of names and into the next set!

Also I know this is WAY in the future but I am already looking foreward to winter : ) Do you think if we get that in the middle El Nino (which seems to be the case) we will get some godzillas and maybe even roids?)

83* dewpt 71* I think it's the most humid day so far. If you get in the direct sun with that humidity ugh. Its not terrible to me yet tho, upper 80s+ with this humidity is when it's starts to get oppressive.

Mesoscale discussion including the area, only 20% possibility of a watch for now. I wouldn't surprised to see that go up, the air feels really unstable and i see storms blooming already to the south and west.

radar very quiet most of the activity over northern pa moving away to the north east. could have some heavy rain showers late tonight as best forcing moves over area then. thunder extremely unlikely!

looks like sea breeze has kicked in. wind has picked up and it feels much more comfortable out now. sea breeze should stabilize atmosphere so nyc and coast shouldn't see any t/storms today.

My type of weather today. Hoboken was about 5 degrees cooler and the breeze of the river felt awesome. Since last week I've had family from Florida over and its been pretty cool, especially for them when they arrived on Friday in the am and it was 58 in the morning. Starting Friday, temps look go down again a few degrees. I'm trying to soak this all up. Someone posted a 6 months to christmas meme on facebook and I about had a heart attack. Definitely not ready for cool or cold weather.

algae, thunder and lightning unlikely heh, been watching it flash out my window as the line approaches and man is it going to rain HARD! Severe no but lightning map shows quite a few strikes around the area. Area flood advisory just issued. Places up by Middletown NY are getting like 3-5 inches of rain in a few hours, insane! This line is barely moving too.

Just started to pour here. zoo I am basically due east of westwood on the other side of hudson, seeing less flashes now.

rain hard? really! well I received .19 inches of rain. real heavy!lol CP .15 lag.09, JFK .11. I didn't hear any thunder or see any lightning. nobody from NYC on east like I said had any heavy rain or t/storms. just check NWS OBS and see for yourself. jman maybe you were having a bad dream?

Yeah it wasn't much for me either. It came down heavy for maybe 90 secs then periods of light rain.

Got .42" here and a pretty decent thunderstorm, lots of lightning and house shaking thunder....weakened as it headed east....I had some really impressive cells train right iver me and rained for quite a while....still sticky this morning though. :-(

Hey algae, I had penty of lightning as did Dunzoo. Def not a bad dream but yeah wasn't anything big. It poured for about 10 min then light rain internmittent. What is going to break this humidity?

heading to Robert moses state park tomorrow with my daughters. 87* and pure blue sunshine. wish everyday in summer was like that! nice and tranquil. with a few late evenings showers to keep the grass watered.

beautiful day at beach today. temps at the shore in the low 80's with a stiff breeze. water was chilly though in the low 60's. I was a little surprised because some on here have mentioned that atlantic SST are warmer than normal. a great day though!!

Most of the rain we get this week will fall on Thursday. The 4th will also feature rain, but it could come to an end by the early afternoon and we can salvage a nice evening - though it would be kinda wet.
