Re: June 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
Going to go out on break and just let the sun bake me and the humidity take me over. I think this will fall short of a heat wave correct? For some areas. 3 days in a row above 90 if I'm not mistaken.

Re: June 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
SPC put us in a slight risk for high winds today as storms roll through. I think tomorrow is the bigger threat. But we should still monitor today. Best chance is south and west of NYC today.
Re: June 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
No heat wave for us. Just a day. 2 days maybe 3 from Philly (mid 90s) to DC (upper 90s)

I'm pushing 90 now. I agree it's not the worst thing in the world. We haven't had any stretches of sustained heat yet. That's when it starts to wear on you.

My high for the day was............89.1* just a bit outside as the Great Bob Ucker would say!

I hit 90 in my backyard.
I have another thermometer which faces the street which was 92. That's the unofficial city street temp.

Re: June 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
I am not sure exactly how hot it was but mid-afternoon my car said 99! I am guessing that includes heating from sun and indicies but it was darn hot and uncomfortable. I dunno how you guys enjoy this unless its a light stroll, I am running around like crazy in long slacks and short sleeve dress shirt. Anyways is that line coming down from up north going to make it down here tonight? From latest GFS it appears the CAPE is forecast to be a bit less than the one Frank posted from 00z. Any thoughts?

82* here, holding on to the heat all night.
Even cpk is 81*, LGA 82*
Unless a t storm develops early afternoon, 90 should be a lock.

Depends at what time the sea breeze kicks in
Also, severe weather does not look as likely today as it did Yesterday. Afternoon t-storm still possible though

I saw a map of cape values earlier....lower values for northern NJ...South and west of here was higher. With the breeze we have going here, it's quite comfortable for 87*

Today is much more comfortable that yday humidity seems lower and temps here have only moved a few degrees from morning low in the low 80s with a strong NW wind.

CP high temp today failed to reach 90*. so it looks like we will not have our first 90* day until july as the next 10-14 days look rather cool.

Yeah temps never really moved all day.
That's gonna be one of the latest first 90 in a while.
JFK hit 90 and other places near the shore on that NW wind.

Re: June 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
You can tell where the boundary has stationed itself for today by looking at the radar
http://images.intellicast.com/WxImages/RadarLoop/usa_None_anim.gif
Along the PA/NY boarder. It will gradually slide south and bring showers into our area by early to kid afternoon.

Re: June 2014 Observations / Discussions Thread
Yep, summer is here and the longest day was yesterday.Next few days look like excellent weather for everybody's outdoor events.
I can hear those old time summer songs from years ago, "Lazy crazy days of Summer" by Nat King Cole and "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, LOL! Kind of makes me want to look at the Bergen Record for the times of a Drive Inn Movie Theatre. Too bad they are all gone.

Upcoming week doesn't look too bad. Threat of rain late Wednesday into Thursday, but temps probably in the low to mid 80's. It could get humid at times though.
