September 2014 Observations and Discussion
With the beginning of meteorological fall, summer feels like it just arrived with hot and humid temps to end Labor Day weekend. But it looks as if fall will have to wait, it looks as if slightly above normal temperatures will stick around for most of the 1st half of the month.
Having a thunderstorm now. Solid inch+ of rain the last 2 days.

You got that right kid, just in time for school to start! Good luck in your senior year.

Re: September 2014 Observations and Discussion
Yes, good luck Ryan this year. Alex too. And anyone else entering important years in school.
As Isotherm mentioned in the long range thread, September is going to start out very warm and possibly remain that way through the first half. I do think by this weekend, specifically Saturday, temps get back to normal. What happens next week remains to be seen.
How about rain?
Do not expect much. Maybe some Wednesday morning but that's about it for this week.

Took till sept to get a real stretch of summer heat..which still isn't an actual heat wave for most. Summer couldn't go that easy. Hottest day for me at 94*

Looking at the current radar, looks like NENJ will get only a little wet tonight, heavy stuff going north and south of us.....we need rain so I hope it fills in....

Re: September 2014 Observations and Discussion
Saturday could be a rainy dead with a dragging cold front coming through. Most cold fronts are quick movers. This one is not being advertised that way, right now.

Re: September 2014 Observations and Discussion
although its very warm here, parts of central and northern Canada received their first SNOW yesterday and are forecast to get more sunday and Monday. next we will hear of snow in the northern rockies and upper Midwest. soon after that the great lakes will see flakes flying. then slowly progressing to the Appalachians. then reaching our northern most suburbs as we anxiously await its arrival.

weather fact: Pittsburg pa has not had a 90* day the whole summer and if they do not reach it on Friday its unlikely they reach it at all this year.

Must be waaaay north lol. In that case thought it's not too uncommon to see snow in far north Canada right now.
