12/9-12/10 Coastal Storm Observations

Let's see how this goes down....I'm beginning to think many places in eastern PA will turn out to be snowier than originally thought. We'll see. Possible snow all the way to the coast on Wednesday as well, but don't expect it to accumulate.  



I'm currently at 36 degrees at 2:30am. I was only in the 20's Monday morning so clearly you can already tell this storm is drawing up mild southern air with it. HP to the north does not have cold air to work with, hence the +AO. But low level cold could help PA. Elevations should do well. 

Biggest story is wind! Gusts possibly over 60 mph at times. Take caution

The rain began here a few minutes ago.

pouring rain 36* n/e wind 14mph gusts 22mph. big dry slot over del, s/e pa and extreme s/w nj. heaviest rain looks like from now thru noon for most. precip over epa much lighter than near coast

It's like a hurrican outside

so far winds are not to bad. 10-20 mph with gusts to near 30. with heavy rain.

Good morning all, looks pretty calm outside with moderate rain and not seeing much wind yet. 06z NAM has the strongest winds around noon to late afternoon. If ace is feeling it now Al its probably not far away, the adviory starts in a little less than 2 hrs.

Now your thinkinging posible gusts over 60mph frank?! NWS did say they expect advisory level winds to bemost likely but that 58mph wind gusts not out of question, hmmm leaning toward a warning level possible but they will probably keep it a advisory unless they observe winds consistent i n that magnitude. Of course I have to be sick, I feel like im swallowing jagged rocks.

FWIW local forecast on accuwx has wind gusts to 63mph today and 56mph tonight. NWS also in their local brought gusts up from 36 last night to 45 now. Looks like they are thinking higher end now.

West Milford roads are a mess. Everything here is a sheet of ice. Temps just now starting to rise- still not above freezing...

Flooding everywhere around town. Really bad. Winds gusting over 35 now

25 here now, had some freezing rain/sleet overnight. It was snowing like crazy before, but backed off and is mixed with sleet at times here now in between heavy bands. No wind. about an inch of fresh snow/sleet on the ground already.

Now it's just freezing rain lol GREAAAAAAAATTTTTT. Good thing we got the generator going the other day, because if it's gonna be freezing rain until it hopefully goes back to snow we're gonna end up with a half inch of ice -_- I'd rather a cold rain like most of us on here are getting than ice lmao

LMAO I think freezing rain is going to be a big problem for those of us in the northwestern areas. and would not be surprised to se some totals reach between .25-.5" of accretion. This just sucks lol

rain already coming to and end near atlantic city. first band of heavy rain should be north of nyc by around lunch time. this looks to come in and out quicker than models showed. actually cmc has this first part right. still will be rain later today and tonight but not as widespread or intense as this. cant wait for today to be over.lol

ace and skins most of the heavy rain is over for you guys. that band off the coast probably headed for LI.

A chance of rain showers before 9pm, then a chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. West wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Heavy band of rain offshore looks like its trying to rotate NW. At school so can't see the HRRR
