Polar Blast 2.0 Thursday-Friday, Some Snow Too

My temp gauge was spun around by an animal I think, so my daytime temps are not accurate. The solar panels that drive the fan are facing north :-( unfortunately it is on the roof of my garage, maybe tomorrow I will be able to get to it. Nighttime temp readings are accurate though...

How cold are we talking about for tonights (Monday Feb 23-24) lows. I know we're really late in the season for it but I'm seeing lows predicted of -10 to -15 in HV which will rival Fridays outbreak.

Any thoughts on NYC tonight? is 0 possible? You know my thoughts, you have to have at least a sustained 10-15 mph wind to offset and carry off some of the heat island effect to even have a possibility. NWS predicting 4 for CPK, TWC is predicting another 2 degree morning, accuweather 5. I would think there's no shot at tomorrow mornings record in CPK of -1, but I wouldn't make the chances 0% either the way this February has gone.

24.2 average right now makes it the 4th coldest February ever. There is no shot at the 19.9 average from 1934 but number 4 would make it historic.

Also of note, still every day in Februuary has seen a 6 inch snow pack or greater in CPK, for the entire month of February that has never happened. We shall see by Sunday if it does.

Your thoughts? Is this air mass as cold as Fridays?

This month will finish in the top 10 coldest months ever records, nevermind just February. This month will beat almost all Januaries as well. What's also amazing is that all of the months colder than this one were pre-1950, and in most cases, pre 1935, with the exception of 1977. We're at a mean temp of 24.5F in NYC right now. Good chance we beat 1895's 24.1. Another point is that there were only 2 Febs in the top 8 coldest month. This will likely be the 3rd February in the top 8 coldest months.
