Nice to see Duda and Cuddyer wake from their slumbers.Yes, a gem by Syndegaard.Glad to see him getting better as Matz is down for who knows how long.Wouldn't be surprised to see Matz shut down for the season as that's how injuries affect the Mets.

Nevertheless, as you say Snow, we are still in pretty good shape standings wise and it's all due to the pitching, starters and relief.

Dunz, I was just thinking that, we Mets Fans should start a collection to get you to as many games as possible!You brought magic to Harvey, settling into a great groove after the shaky first inning and blasting a home run!Nice to see Duda coming around and Reuben blasting one out! Doc, the Mets are 3-0 in games I have been to this year, which were 4/14 when Harvey pitched the wild game vs the Phillies, 4/25 when Harvey pitched 8 2/3 innings at Yankee Stadium and 5/27 when Syndergaard not only dominated the Phillies but also hit a home run. And my personal winning streak goes back last year to 7/8/14 when deGrom dominated the Braves (and I appeared on the PIX 11 broadcast after the Granderson leadoff home run), and 6/24/14 when Colon pitched well against the A's. The last loss was deGrom's debut vs the Yankees on 5/15/14 when they lost 1-0 (I was with my two Yankee fan friends that night)

Well my,my,my Mike.We have a little contest here between you and Janet for wins by the Mets on games you two attended! Hey, us Met Fans will contribute to send BOTH of you together for good luck.As Obi Wan would say...."use the force,Luke!", LOL!

Anyway, this starting pitching staff is really becoming a force to be reckoned with and don't forget Wheeler comes back next season as well.

Another epic day at Citi Field! Kirk is the first Met to hit 3 HRs in a home game. Niese a little shaky at first but settled down for a good day. I am looking to keep getting to games, hopefully get back there soon. Anyone up for a gtg at Citi Field? LGM!

Well September 18th to 20th (Friday to Sunday), the Mets host the Yankees for Round 2 of the Subway Series. Maybe that's the best time to have the meetup. Let's hope they're still in pennant race then.

This was a NL highlight in an otherwise dismal game.Jacob made Kershaw look like a bum. Nice tribute to Hank Aaron, Johnny Bench, Sandy Koufax and Willy Mays in the beginning.

That kid Trout reminds me of Mickey Mantle when he was a youngster.Can hit and run like the Mick.

You play with the big boys....you get your arse kicked! Still, I'd rather this 12-2 loss than the 4-3 one run loss the other day.

If you can't split a series with the top teams, you are doomed.The only lemonade I can make from these lemons is Cuddyer went 3-4 and Washington lost AGAIN so we are still within 3 games.

Frank, that has been the case for quite a while and the only reason we are 3 games out is Washington has more injuries than us plus we have good pitching.

Holy cow! A big win in 18 innings, with a Nats,loss. I swear no one wanted to win this game, the Mets left 25 men on base, even had deGrom pinch hit!

Harvey didn't pitch a good game. The offense still sinks. I have seen little league teams hit better than this team. It's just pathetic. Alex Torres, Mayberry and Campbell have to go. They are awful.

This six man rotation is screwing up Harvey.Either that,or he'll never be the same post Tommy John.We needed this win against the division leader and Harvey choked.Agree with you on the offense.Triple A could beat these guys.Latest run...3 losses out of 4 against first place teams.NOT playoff bound baseball.

I heard that the Mets are also interested in Johnny Cueto and Juan Uribe. I have no clue why Cueto. They have enough pitching.

Mets beat the Nats 7-2. Mets are 2 games out for the division and 2 games out for the wildcard right now. If the Cubs lose, they will be 1 game out. Degrom pitched a good game for his 10th win. Big hit by Eric campbell in the 7th to put the Mets ahead. There are talks for Montero for Ben Zobrist. I think it's going to happen. Seems like they are really close with a deal. He's not a great hitter but he's better than what they have now. Good contact hitter.
