Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Nobody on here ever needs to apologize for giving their best opinion based on their analysis. This is s very inexact science and is extremely challenging. We're talking about global factors affecting systems where 50-100 miles makes all the difference. We're lucky to have so many smart, skilled people here to keep us ahead of the curve on these events.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Coast has to be getting at least 2" per hour rates. Some intense DBZ banding going on over the southern 3/4 of NJ. Lines up nicely with the 700mb Fronto. and 850mb feature seen over EVA. Quite the anomalous jet streak north of us and as stated several times, divergence is favorable. Having a blast tracking and radar watching, as well as seeing pictures and reports! What is better than snow on a Saturday!!

Just shoveled and (measured officially for the first time) 3" here. Seems to have lightened up a bit.
rb. Apologize for what? you made a call and stuck to it. You are 24 and already better than most Mets. Relax!!!

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
16.5 degrees, light to moderate snow still but I think up here our end is coming quickly.
1.4 inches as of the 1:30 measurement which is already 1.3 inches more than I expected.
I'm hoping someone to the south and east reports double digits by tomorrow morning.

Central park and Newark 1.6 inches as of 1 pm, LGA and JFK 1.8 at the same time.
Sounds about right for now compared to surrounding areas.

Some more graphic pics you prolly do not want to see, at least 10 injuries estimated 21 car pile up with two leaking gas tankers into CT river, not good both sides closed in middletown CT, not far from my hometown and traveled this highway often in my younger days.

Over 1" per hour here. Easy 2-3" per hour out at Montauk. You and sroc4 gotta be 1.5-2" per hour By 3 o clock I'm over 4" easy
That's 1 beer+ per hour!!
