Anybody have any idea on how EPA will do with this storm. We could use a decent snowfall. So far this year I haven't even hit 12 inches yet. Pretty sad Winter so far for my area.

The upper level jet structure suggests dynamics will play a role in this event. We could be looking at Godzilla-like snow amounts in isolated areas, but I'm not ready to say it's an area-wide Godzilla.

I saw the video and it was very well put together. I also agree that thunder-snow is possible

Thanks Mugs and Rb. We sure could use a decent snow storm in our area. We really haven't had anything this year or even last year. Hopefully everything will come together and give us all a nice amount.

I smell an area of subsidence over LI on the NAM. Area of heavy banding north and south of NYC.

It's possible that this is sniffing out ducted gravity waves induced by the intense vertical motions, which is plausible.
