Very concerned. I'm prepared for a bad storm. I've got crank chargers and lanterns and radios. I've got battery pack chargers. I'll grab more food and water. But a major hurricane? I have no idea where I'd go or what I'd do. I've got my husband, our elderly cat, my parents, and all their pets to worry about. There's no way to plan. I'm truly terrified and don't understand those folks that want a major hurricane to hit this area.
Trying to be helpful here. It's not rocket science. Book a few days in a nice hotel in let's say Scranton Pa. one that takes pets. Make sure they have a 24 hour cancellation policy so you can get out of it. This will take 30 minutes and give you 10 days peace of mind. Easy
Why Scranton?

Depends on the track, but during Sandy, we had lower winds than anywhere else. (I am in between Scranton and Wilkes Barre)

Honestly living on 2nd floor of a apartment building what should my preparing include? I am not near ocean but winds are my main concern. Flooding can happen on our bridge but thats no big deal. What worries me most is i street park and my cars getting crushed.

Look at my last post. No model has a clue whatsoever. There are no trends.

Just figured a town located a couple of hundred miles inland. Not Scranton for any particular reason. No reason for anyone to panic or be caught off guard. I live on the coast and have zero fear at all

There's no reason to be afraid. Not yet at least. And I suspect that if the word comes in that it's time to leave the coast you already have a plan in place. We discussed last winter. Survival of the fittest, which in modern times tends to mean most prepared.

Re: Tracking Hurricane Irma
I'm not near the coast. I'm worried about the winds after Sandy. We had tree after tree after tree come down in my neighborhood, including one next to my house that also pulled down all the wires and a telephone pole with sparks flying everywhere. Cop that responded later responded to a house a half mile away and a tree fell on his car. I'm pretty traumatized by winds at this point. :/

During Sandy a tornado spun up and went right down my block. Trees and utility poles snapped in half. Had no power for 13 days. Lost 2 trees and my fence. Basement flooded. Trust me I've been there. I think you can look up the tornado still on the internet. It was cool

lets see what happens..right now i am off the ledge ...but there were times during those model runs the last couple of days.I want to pack and run... lets see what the next couple of days brings..get your water and meds..batteries..and everything you would need to survive a week or two without power...that way if the panic happens you are not fighting lines...and shortages...if it comes down to looking like its coming here...you can make further plans...stay busy...
