Well look at the placement of the current line and the placement on the NAM, and the placement on the HRRR and the current radar. I dont think the line is suddenly going to jump to where the NAM is do you? LOL

Totally different entities moving through at diff times. 2pm ish HRRR vs 5pm is on the NAM

NWS Latest update:

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Stratified rain on the north side of an MCS passing off the NJ
coast will work quickly across the area the next couple of
hours. We should then clear back out. The question is can the
airmass recover and destabilize again for a chance of thunderstorms
later this afternoon. The last several runs of the HRRR redevelops
convection to NW of the Lower Hudson Valley late this
afternoon, which then drops south and east across the area
through early this evening. So will maintain a scattered threat
for late this afternoon into early this evening. Any strong and
or severe looks to be isolated and not as widespread as earlier
thought.

Well that stinks, oh well, just another addition to a very bad day.

The NWS confirms the severe line of storms that moved through the Philly and South Jersey area earlier was a derecho. Winds were clocked in the upper-80s mph in many locations and three deaths recorded.

The 2 Nd line has gotten to me .nothing crazy just heavy rain with some lightning that’s about it

Last night on the way to Monroe from Fort Lee NJ, ran into pitch black clouds.It opened up with extremely heavy rain and some wind near Hickory Farm Nursery.Had to pull over in the old Red Apple Rest parking lot for 10 minutes, I could not see even with my windshield wipers going at cartoon speed.Notices small branches and leaves going up the Orange Turnpike.
Calm and sunny now.

Wow, Red Apple Rest! That's a throwback! The rain was quite the deal here, nothing severe, just heavy rain.

Dunz, it's still there but boarded up and in terrible shape.I expect it to come down sooner rather than later.I know it was in a Woody Allen movie and the Motel across the street still in business , was in the 1970 movie "Love Story".Monroe NY's claim to movie fame,LOL.Pass them both on the way to Fort Lee and back to attend to my Mom's needs.

Yjat looks identical to last nights, let me hopethat i see a better storm than last night just rediculously heavy rain and not really any wind. The worst looked to be to my north around 287. Thats a lice likke bowing line, might get some good storm out of that.

What a gorgeous day today!! Felt like September. Went off a hike at Campgaw Reservation in Mahwah, Ramapo Reservation was insane.
