Wow so nothing else fell. Can I call bust at least for my area? Not even close low end from any major forecast. Like 5 inches. I'm get reports of a foot plus in CT how did they jackpot?

Every reporting station in Westchester County has 8 to 12 in of snow I don't know where you're getting your 5in from

Hey snow fell so take it as NOT a bust..look at what we have had in the last 2 years...Enjoy it!! Models are not as we know set in stone..I found this storm to be fasinating with all of its different precip types..and it's cold enough not to melt away today..WIN WIN...Hope you can get your daughter out to enjoy!!

How does Ct jackpot when places within 30 miles of you in NY are 12+ and Binghamton received 45 inches and south of you in NYC received 10 inches.

Where exactly do you measure, the main road after the plow comes through?

In Kings Park Long Island I got 5"-6" maybe was looking for at least a foot..............Bummer, but We are just starting plenty of winter left.

I stand corrected, I looked outside it did not look at all more than when I meansured 5 last night around 10pm I think, it is closer to 8 inches. So I guess Frank your safe good job no bust. Still amazed at some of the totals coming out of CT and PA.

Your too funny CP, no but its very hard to find a good place to measure here, I went out to the middle of our front yard which still likely had some snow taken from it so it said 7-8 or 9 depending on the spot so I averaged 8 inches, as I said I stand correected, still low end but noit a bust. Just had fun sledding on a small hill with my daughter, as long as its enough snow to do that honestly it doesnt matter how much we got.

Long Island you go get a moderate to heavy band coming in from CT!

snow ended, quick band, put down a dusting.

There have been 29 Decembers with 10 or more inches of snow in NYC, but stupidly this morning I included this year being the 29th December with 10 inches or more in the calculations below.

So there have been 28 full seasons in NYC with 10 or more inches of snow in December and here's how they fared. I'm sure most don't care but I do strive for accuracy.

Hats off to Heehaw, who saw the 28 on a posting he put into the weather statistics thread this morning.

24 of those winters have then had 30 or more inches for the season or 85.7%

17 of the 28 have had 40 or more inches of snow for the season or 60.7%

9 of the 28 have had 50 or more inches of snow or the season or 32.1%

4 of the 28 have had 60 or more inches of snow or the season or 14.2%

1 of the 28 have had 70 or more inches of snow or the season or 3.6%

Amazinf we so close but you got about 3 inches more and your closer to the water, but measuring was hard.

pretty cool...I'm happy with what i got was just enough anywhere from 6-12 is a good storm to me
