Cooler to cold temps at times as teh EPO and PNA and NAO take control of they pattern - more like mid winter than April:

There hasn't been a snowpack in NNE for about 2 weeks. That is pretty amazing since up in NNE they many times receive their best snowstorms in mid to late March. As matter a fact you have to go to northern Quebec to find decent snow OTG. Even Labrador City is pretty much devoid of snow OTG ATTM although just 100 miles north you find decent snows.

Caribou ME snowfall since October 1 2020 is 66.5" Very anomalously low for that area. Like that happens once in 20 years.

Nighttime cold is in the house for the next week or so

Just had a shower move through that seemed to have some frozen pellets within the rain. My wife heard the pinging on her window and sure enough you could see them bouncing off the roof. There's some cold air up there.

We just had a squall line or something come through with a burst rain hail and gusty winds. I'd say sleet but it was pretty big for sleet and it's 55 out no way that's winter weather.

I can see this is go be another year We go 50s to 80s. No spring.

Mail it in this sucks for April. Not planting until middle of May again.

My Asparagus is up and already being harvested, may throw in some broccoli for the cool start as well...

might be some severe storms with the cold front tomorrow. This back and forth with 70s to 30s is torture. I just broke put the shorts now I gotta go back dig put coats hats gloves etc

About 2:00 pm today, the thunderstorms came through. Loud boom-booms, torrential rain for 15 minutes. Then 25 mph-ish winds after. Winds have not calmed down. 7:44 pm was sunset and that was a couple of minutes ago. It looks way dark out; even though rain is not expected, it looks like it. The cold air came in after the storm in a most biting way. I am way thankful my roof did not leak. They did not finish yesterday and I was delighted to see the ice guard keep the water out. You see your life pass in front of your eyes when torrential rain falls on a half-finished roof. I caught a break (good roofer I guess; better if he had finished yesterday)

The front yesterday passed here in Bloomfield with hardly any rain. I've noted how often this happens in my location. For years I thought it was a coincidence, but after watching radar for decades, and having others in my area make note of it, it seems like a real phenomena. Storm lines break up or split just to my west, leaving it to rain harder just north and just south of me. I suspect it is related to topography, being on the leeward side of first mountain. Or I could just be seeing things.

was freezing all day today!! we had a low of 35 this morning and wind chills in the 20's...that is why I always follow what my mom said..Never plant before May 15th...

For us it was always plant by St. Patrick’s day. Point is it’s Viva Las Vegas with regards to planting. Any time could be the wrong time. Or the right time. I noticed the fruit trees kept their blossoms. Good, that.

When I had my organic vegetable garden Mahwah NJ, many a year I could plant the early stuff by St Patricks Day. Then, there were years like 93-94 when the ground was still snow covered into mid April.Frosts were still possible there to My 20.

Local topography can play a big role in weather that is often underestimated/unaccounted for by people. It's one reason that sometimes people who have lived in a location for 10, 20, 30 years have a better "feel" for how a weather system will develop at that location then someone looking at models who just arrived there or has no experience with the weather there. I remember reading a funny column in a weather magazine when I was a kid about a meteorology professor who moved to the Great Lakes region to begin teaching. On his first day of Meteorology 101 (or whatever) class he left his class with a forecast: It would be windy, and cold but dry the next day. Instead there was half-a-foot of snow. Embarrassed he returned to class the next day to discuss the new phenomena he hadn't learned to account for yet: Lake Effect Snows.

MJO wave is strong for this time of the year in the cooler phases of 8 and 1 - too bad was not winter!!

Pretty cool

Hey all, I have been quite busy and not following the boring weather much but wanted to know, does Saturday morning look quite wet? TWC online shows rain but we all know hoe accurate they are, and I am talking in jersey because thats where I will be heading if its at least somewhat dry.

I dont see much rain in the forecast for Sat am. Looks like late afternoon early eve showers could pop up around the city and points west. Monday looks like a more steady rain
