June 2021 Observations and Discussion

After a miserable start to the Memorial Day weekend we eeked out a nice day Monday and today wasn't too bad either. It does appear the potential for some big thunderstorms is looming this Thursday. And that we may see a stretch of 90-plus degree days starting this weekend.

75 degrees and Mostly Sunny presently.

Episodic heat works for me. However, the summer is just getting here so we may have some longer periods other than a week of 90s

Needless to say I’m not surprised by the hot start to meteorological summer. It’s going to be above normal for the ensuing months in my opinion. -NAO winters normally = hot summers.

Wow it really came down by 4 o’clock it was pitch black Torrential rain lots of ground ground lightning at least we didn’t get that much wind thank God

The line of storms in PA looks rather bowed, wonder if we could be looking at some wind issues

no wind up here in Orange. Rained lightly for 30 min, then 30 intensely, then lightly again. All in all a half inch. Thunder, lightning. Wind was in Atlantic City at a casino playing the slots.

A beautiful 45 degrees this morning. Fresh air, no air conditioning. A cup of coffee. Trying to figure out if next Tues my daughter's 8 am graduation will get rained out.

If this becomes the dominate pattern this summer; strong heat pump ridge out west/ trough in the east, I’d take it. I’m not a big fan of upper 90’s with high humidity. Mid to upper 80’s would suit me just fine. The one wildcard in such a pattern is that the east coast would be a sitting duck this hurricane season.

So far we have not had any big storms here, guess from what I just read you guys in NJ have seen some good ones. Hopefully we see some at some pt, weather has been so boring. I hate the humidity too, and it is super humid past few days, today is go be scorcher, happy fathers day to all dads!

Happy First Day of Summer everyone! I'm for sure looking forward to a lot of summertime fun over the next 2-3 months...but 1st day of summer means we're half way to the 1st day of WINTER!!!
