About an inch and a 1/2 on the colder surfaces here everything else completely covered a little sleet mixing in.  Would have hit 6" here easily if it happened at night or it were a little colder

You’re not alone. My parents in the Poconos are close to 6” as well (unofficial from my mom, will get a better estimate/measurement from my dad when he gets home haha).

Nice. Your mid levels just a touch colder probably due to latitude kept you colder at surface. I'm at 620' and nothing but white rain today.

I can see the Shawangunk mountains when the leaves are down. Intuitively I think they have something to do with things around here. They are something like 10 miles away. The wind can absolutely blast down from them toward us. I have lots of woods around so often I feel very little wind outside but the trees dance. If I go down the road a mile to visit friends, they are on an open space. They have sun going on in a serious way but the wind, it tries to blow their windows out. I see them flexing sometimes. I think the ridge plays tricks with the weather. For example, cross the Hudson into Westchester via Bear Mountain, it is like a different world for weather. Snow has about stopped. I will get a measurement later but I’d say closer to 6 inches than not

Did not have time to go out today but it snowed all day contrary to the forecasts of mainly rain. Since Al said it was about 1.5 on grass I would say that was about right, it did start to accumulate on some paved surfaces as it got past 3 but then it shut off. Still was nice to see it falling with what little time I had to look outside.

Here in Bayonne we had rain - lots and lots of rain. So much rain the kitchen ceiling developed a total of 3 leaks and we had an inch of water in each bucket. The poor landlord is pulling his hair out because roofers can't find the source of said leak for almost a year now. They were up there 3 times already.

As for snow - we had a bit, but it all melted soon after it hit. By dinner time all precip had ended and the sidewalks were starting to dry up. My brother said his place in Ridgefield Park had about an inch of slush on the ground when he got home from work around 5:30p.

This morning? Here in Bayonne we have fog. Lots and lots of fog. I can barely see across the street it's still so thick at 8:15am. I'm sure it'll clear up soon.

Now I'm waiting to see what's happening Saturday. Newspapers are saying "bomb cyclone", but they said that a few times this season already.

Roof leaks are really hard to find, the source may be far from where you see the leak.Just be happy you are not the landlord,LOL.Ah, the joys of owning rental property, I never did and never will Use REIT's to invest in real estate.
Beautiful winter landscape out there, trees covered and 3 inches of snow OTG.Will disappear fast though, into the 40's here today.

The roof needs off, ice guard and felt needs on, and new shingles plus flashing, drip guard. Rain is shaping up. When NWS says a half inch-that’s 3 inches for sure
