Re: June Observations & Discussions
Definitely had some strong storms roll through my area from about 6am-9:30 am. (Perfect timing for my commute
). Wasn’t a lot of wind, and only a few rumbles of thunder but rain was torrential.

Re: June Observations & Discussions
Mugs, I am at 50 right now close to 11 pm. Will probably hit 48 by the morning. It is too cold for the peepers because I do not hear anything right now. Usually outside at this time of night is it loud as can be. Bull frogs are singing, peepers are peeping, Doc's baritone is in there somewhere, and CP is out there somewhere smuggling a head of lettuce to Othelia the groundhog. On this night, it is like a winter night: no sound at all.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY YOUR DAY!
What crazy weather! We were at a wedding yesterday and it was FREEZING...lol the day before was 90 degrees... and launched the boat yesterday morning with 20+ mph winds..thank goodness we have the gates or would not have happened..a little worried about our weather the next few weeks...usually this is the calmest time to travel on the boat..not so sure...54* for low and currently 68 winds at 17 with gusts up to 26 mph...

For those who have the radarscope app, or another high-res radar app, the smoke-debris plume can be picked up on the KDIX radar. Pretty impressive when you put it in motion.

Re: June Observations & Discussions
Been a while, so I hope everybody is well!! I wanted to post on something happening today that I’m not sure I’ve ever seen. Take a look and the Northeast regional radar and note the movement of the precipitation is from north to south. Now take a look at the regional surface winds……..nearly 180° difference between the two. One, it’s something I’m finding fascinating because I’ve never seen it before lol and two, it’s a great demonstration of how weather is so much more than what we experience here on ground level.
For good order, I do intend to do a full post-mortem analysis on my winter forecast at some point. First I was waiting on the data, then I was working two jobs haha but it is definitely something that I want to do, so I’ll post that when I have time.

Re: June Observations & Discussions
Very April-like June day: Cloudy, drizzle, 68*. But summer returns this Friday - Sunday. Current radar is totally random btw. Flip a coin if you’re under a shower/storm. Lol.

As much as I like cooler weather and not having to use the AC, this cold, damp, dreary day is no fun. We had a light mist most of the day - yuck!
