Speaking of rain…i said in a post,,what, yesterday that I got seemingly steady rain but only an inch in the gauge; the I went to bed, got up this morning to find 2.5 inches of rain in the gauge. My wife said the boom-booms were so loud and over the house that the house shook. I of course slept through it

I went to Tractor Supply and while in line, folks were exclaiming at to the ferocity of the storm. 

Just now since 8 am, there is another 1/2 inch. Surprising because it is raining on and off but not that hard. I am thankful to see it

The gift that keeps of giving...wish it was snow though but we needed this rain to bust this drought or put a nice debt in it.

This is impressive

2.9" total rain this week, nice dent in the drought! On to nice weather (but cold) for the playoffs this weekend! #LGM

70 degrees, partly cloudy, calm wind.
Went fishing today at a few local lakes and the colors coming out are just incredible.Deep oranges, yellows and reds.Thought with the drought and heat this summer the Fall colors would be a bust this year.Far from it.

This is a one heck of cold shot if it verifies

I stopped following baseball a few years ago but saw this today.Same story, overpaying has been pitchers that flop when you need them most,LOL.Mets usually get in the series every 15 years or so, 1969,1986,2001 and 2016 I think it was.Not due until 2031,LOL.

Okay folks this is shades of 2011 and 12 together in a 1 week time-frame.

36* and looking for that first freeze by the early AM. Historically right about on target for this area. If we stay away from any type of cloud cover it should happen.

Utilizing the heat pump to take the chill off, refuse to use oil until it gets colder- cleaned my pellet stove chimney yesterday- getting pellets today… up to 34* now

Missed frost here 37* but just to my west about 1 mile on the hill they had patchy frost.

...and today...most of the outside plants still out there...the hanging baskets...must sadly go. They are scraggly. i see by the end of the week, the day temps are lower and the night temps follow their direction downward. I went out this morning about 30 miles west on 17 to Sullivan county to have breakfast. A spot I go to is local and has local flavor. The drive up was nice but the foliage was beautiful. Here is was 32. There it was 30 this morning and there were signs of frost. If anyone goes past Orange county into Sullivan, you go about 7 miles and go over a gorge. At any point in the year, especially the summer or fall, you get a dense fog bank. Looks something like over Skull Island. You can have blue skies then fog and come out on the other side of the gorge back to blue sky. I think it is before Rock Hill. The weather is always different that way and more west than here. We are on some kind of hinderland cusp. When we go up to Buffalo to see our son, Rosco starts to look like Canada. Beautiful ride to Buffalo but long!

Beautiful day...started 40* for the low and real feel of 35* finished cleaning my perennial garden bed today..sad. ..currently 60* The pool is down and I really wanted to re seal the deck..I have a window of Tues and Wed..its not usually this cold at night this time of year..but I will be a maniac on Tues sealing..NO ONE in this house better ask me "What is for dinner?" on Tues...lol
