Good analysis Nofo.

There have been bright spots in this dismal season,Lagares hitting 270 and gold glove fielding,Duda developing nicely, D'Arnaud starting to hit. They will have to give up a young arm or two to get a certifiably reliable power hitter. That's a must.

Just going to enjoy the Mets playing a spoiler role.

Doc, they have this shortstop Matt Reynolds in Triple A that's batting .340 and supposedly is good defensively. Hopefully they get him up here in September and give him some reps.

Love that news about Reynolds, Nofo.Meanwhile, due to Murphy on the 15 day DL, we get to see this new kid Hererra? play second base.Problem is, he was only Double A.Hope they don't ruin his confidence.Guess management wants to throw the fans a bone after this dismal season.BTW, only 1/2 game from the basement,LOL! Yeah, Alderson, 90 games...what are you smoking,Jack?

Murphy has been a workhorse, hopefully his calf muscle heals with no issue. I'd love to see more 'kids' come up from Triple A. That would give us fans something to ponder during the winter, as opposed to the proverbial "Just wait till next year".

Love Murph, career year for him.Yep, the future of this team is the youngsters, DArnaud,Lagares, harvey, Wheeler, Syndegaard, Herrera and Reynolds.Familia and Mejia are young as well.Duda is coming around nicely.Let's hope one or two of these kids come with potent bats, 300 BA 100RBI type of consistent guys.If so, we are on the way up.

Agreed.Streaky hitter and fielder. If they don';t bring up that kuid Reynolds than I hope Flores gets it.

Liking Herrera and Flores combo in the infield, ugly game by Colon last night, he imploded in the 6th again! Why Collins leaves him in to give up all those hits is beyond me, it's not like it's the first time it has happened....going to the game today, hoping for a better result.

Also, Collins does not play Recker enough. He has real power and would have a better BA if her had more playing times.Starting to get fed up with Collins. If he doesn't get us a much better record next year, bring up Wally Backmann. He's done wonders in Las Vegas and deserves a shot as a 1986 World Series team member.Honestly, I wanted him in there when they hired Collins a few years ago.

Oh, yes..../1/2 game out of the cellar.Great job, Collins!

Wow, Collins finally made a good move benching Granderson and putting in Niewenheus. He won that game with his home run.Granderson is the new Jason Bay, absolutely horrible.I'd bench him and play Kirk a lot more. These kids are the future, denDekker,Lagares and Niewnheus.Crazy move letting Torres bat with the bases loaded but I guess he didn't want to wear out Familia and let Torres pitch the bottom of the eighth.

Dunz, knew he was in trouble the last few months with his subpar numbers. He tried to tough it out but the numbers didn't lie.

This is wise as he can only do more damage in a losing effort here.Let Campbell have the run and see what he can do.

I like the idea of Murph playing third, if he can handle it, so Herrera can continue to develop.

Big series with Washington coming up.They have beaten us up all season.Time to turn that around and at least split.

Montero did great! deGrom, Montero, Harvey,Wheeler.Love the young arms, not to mention Familia and Mejia doing great in the bullpen.Like what I see for next year.We need a reliable big bat for next year Alderson!

They're not going down without a fight! 8-2 their last 10 games, won 4 straight. Maybe we can keep the momentum going into the Nats series. Very happy with the pitching lately, but we need to get rid of Grandy and pick up a more productive hitter. Unfortunately Wilpons in trouble again with a harassment lawsuit, so there goes some more money for players down the drain.....

The day the Wilpon's sell the Mets will be a joyous day for me.

The Grandy trade reminds me of Jason Bay, though he has perked up a bit lately.

Key series with Washington. If we sweep or take the series, were still in it.If we let them, they will crush out any hope for this season.

Saw that terrible video of Giancarlo Stanton getting hit right under the eye near the cheek by a fastball.Just horrible.Feel so sorry for this young man.He is an incredible ballplayer.Hope he bounces back.Reminds me of Tony Conigliaro back in the early 60's.He was a n amazing player like Stanton and never was able to bounce back.My prayers for you, Giancarlo. Please get well and back in the batters box again.

Alright, a spl;it with the division leaders is ok with me.You have to sweep or win series against weaker teams and split with the strong teams....VOILA, you're playoff bound (next year, of course),LOL!

Looking to play spoiler now and seeing how the youngsters develop here.

8 strike outs in a row by Degromm last night, beat the club record. He's really shaping up to be a terrific pitcher.

For my money I would give up Gee or Niese for some power. SNY interviewed a couple of those potentially solid minor leaguers last night at the ballpark. Why aren't they getting some snaps in September? Get the up here and get them used to the big leagues.

Agree 100% Nofo on trading Gee and Niese.

Great game by the crafty old timer Colon.Enjoyed seeing him wriggle off the hook time and time again.Flores was amazing, he's got the power all right.D'Arnaud hitting well.Montero as a reliever worked out great also.

Agree on letting the kids strut their stuff.Don't matter now anyway, no playoffs this year.

Allright, we knocked the Braves out of the postseason (Oh joy,oh raopture) and we have a shot to end up in second place this season.Hoping they can pull that off to end the season on a high note.DeGrom just amazing.Solid starter for next year.Wjole thing reminds me of 1968 with Seaver and Koosman showing brilliance which led to the magic year of 1969, which I consider the very best year of the franchise.

Read an article in the Bergen Record that now that Bobby Parnell is healthy again, he is going to get the closer spot.I say horsedung!Parnell is not the closer that Mejia is.I can see making Parnell a 7th inning guy behind Familia and Mejia and let's see how he handles it.Mejia stated he would do anything the team wants, real class.Collins wants Parnell as the closer. I want Bachmann as manager,LOL!

Hey Doc, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.

I agree, always thought Mejia would make a good closer or bullpen pitcher. Yeah Parnell, give us a complete season without getting injured then we can talk.
I like what the Mets have done with their pitching staff but we've spoken about this in the past, I would look to trade someone. Perhaps Gee for shortstop or another outfielder with some pop. Mayberry will be good off the bench, but that's not enough. Would also like to see a back up catcher.
What are they going to do with Murphy? It's his contract year isn't it? Sign or trade him. Hope they don't pull the same crap that they did with Reyes and watch him walk.

Cheers, Nofo
