Yep, when you see ice like that on the Hudson, you are having a SERIOUS winter.I'll see it myself next Wednesday when I'm in Edgewater NJ.

Speaking of ice cutters, haven't seen them used on the hudson in a long time- years ago they did it to enable the barges to pass up river...

If anyone is curious about timing, snow should break out around Noon tomorrow. Continue through 8pm.

Its a very light snow with very limited liquid available through the event unless you get into some heavier banding.jmanley32 wrote:Yeah that'd be a darn light snow lol.

Re: January 25, 2014 Clipper Storm
Probably just salting, amounts will be fairly low and inconsistent, especially as you go further east. I don't think they plow coatings to an inch do they? I know around here they're way to cheap for that, they only plow with several inches where thick road accumulation becomes an issue.

I agree with this, from the just around the city and east, the Jersey shore, ect. amounts will generally be less than an inch.

He should be ready just in case. Salting will probably be needed. And no, 1-2 inches is not low. That's all we're getting, if that.
