Our CEO was mad (and I know I have mentioned this before but it still gets me all twisted up) that people from staten island didnt come to work during or right after Sandy, uh hello, what were they going to do swim? The bridges and ferrys were shutdown for days.

I agree I live in nj suburbs and snow mounds are very high my dilemma is I go out with my blower clean my driveway and walkway and today I get 4 neighbors who have the nerve to ask me to clean the entrance to their driveways

Yes I know I should but you figure they would at least ask how much so I'm hoping for that mega storm because I will not bail them out I will wait until they shovel out before I start mine

CNN just sent this article out saying weekend storm isn't happening anymore and lost all energy.. why write something that can be wrong in just a couple days

I emailed that link to myself so I can find it quickly if/when the storm DOES happen and I'll tweet their own story back them with a headline saying, "MODELS ARE FOR GUIDANCE ONLYYY"

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
Bill Evans is completely discounting the idea of ANY storm for this weekend. Says there is a northern piece of energy sheering off to the north, another piece will go far to our south, and we are right in the middle with literally, tranquil weather. I guess models have really gotten rid of this storm...??

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
this why storms shouldn't be hyped up by media two weeks out now the general public is going to hear that their is no storm and not be prepared. even at my job DPW they were saying doesn't look like much and I keep saying not true

My tweet to Bill Evans:
@Evansweather To discount a storm/assure me whatever travel plans I have Sun, I'm 'fine' is negligent. Hype=bad, as is guarantee of no storm

i don't like how every met is discounting this storm and saying its not happening at all because if like frank said and all the pieces align they would have to back track a lot

I agree with you Artech. It took me and my wife 6 hrs. to clean up the snow yesterday and that's with a snow blower. But you know what I'm looking forward to some more and hopefully a few bigger storms. Today it's up on the roof to clean that off, just in case we get some decent size snows next week. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. This is what Winter should be COLD and SNOW. NICE !

All the local Mets in my area saying the same thing, no storm for the weekend. These are the same people who said I'd get 1-3 inches yesterday. Hmm then why did I get 11.5 inches. Believe or not HM on Accuweather agrees with Frank's ideas for this event.

Too early to discount then storm. But it doesn't look good. Storm went from looking like a Roidzilla in out area to a dusting.

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
So i had a little back and forth with Bill Evans on twitter about 30 minutes ago...........
He originally tweeted: "So Sundays snow won't be so bad after all"
I responded: "How can you be so sure? Each storm this season has developed, fallen apart days before only to reorganize" (I was trying to say that there was potential then models had it out to sea or to the north etc)
He responded: "That's not true. Model conditions came together & they developed or they didn't. Not this time"
I responded:" "The models have been inconsistent at best this year" (I have heard that mentioned many times on this board this season)
And the discussion ended with that last tweet by me

The big one seems to be fading at this juncture but there is still a solid mention of light snow.Maybe 2 to 4.Crazy year with these models.Frank pointed out that pieces are there so I'll see what tomorrow brings on the model runs.

Well Doc if we miss out on this one I hear there's like a conga line of storms in the Pacific right now. So sooner or later something has to come together.

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
Yea, getting 3-4 inches wouldn't be bad. Especially since there looks to be something developing next week. Possibly Wednesday or Thursday, but that will be talked about once Sunday is over.

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
6z NAM has the first wave a near miss just south of Jersey on Saturday, and a few inches for us for Sunday....the second wave is about 18 hours behind the first....still a lot of time to watch...

Re: Feb 9th-10th Storm Final Discussion/Observations
With the way this season has gone, I wouldn't discount anything until after 12z runs tomorrow. All it takes is 1 piece to adjust that would bring us a significant storm. The disturbing thing is, like I said in the blog, the models have lost the +PNA (western ridge) and that ultimately could mess this up. But we'll see.

My compliments to Frank for the outstanding blog, explaining in detail, with graphics, the players for this weekend's weather. I will be following here very closely, as always, to get the reliable word on how this will actually play out.
