Amazing how fast this school year has gone by, my daughter is a Senior so we are busy with college stuff. these scholarship deadlines are fast approaching! I guess it doesn't help that February is a short month.

A side note, temps look like they're going to bust high today. Forecast for 35 and already to 34 and rising. My guess is 37-40 at its warmest today.

So do I, only a couple rare spots in lawn are bare. 90% is at least 4"+ of pure crust that I can stand on. Some spots still up to 10"

Yep, now that this storm is busting out up North here, I agree. 33 degrees in Monroe HV. Walked three miles around the lake in town and it felt like spring!
We had last week and next week with cold and no significant snowstorms up here.Looks very grim to possibly pass '95-'96 totals. It still will be king and very hard to break, like DiMaggio's hit streak. We had 62 inches in Mahwah two weeks ago ,but the snow machine has blown a gasket.Just need 5.5 lousy inches to get to number two in Mahwah and it looks like this storm will bust zero.

Hubby and I waled the 6 blocks to the local mom & pop grocery store this morning and heard the same. Also, there were patches of new grass and one house had the leaves of the irises and daffodil bulbs starting to peek out of the ground.
Cant wait for spring to arrive.
You said it! We got one of our cars out earlier this week - the other still has about 2 feet of ice behind it - and we hit the laundromat and did a big grocery store order, but when we got home and parked I accidentally got one of the tires (front tire on a front-wheel drive car) on a patch of ice. When I tried to back it out to get a better angle, the only tire that moved was that one, and it just went round and round, going nowhere. I couldn't even use my plastic snow-tread under it because it was solid ice, as smooth as a sheet of glass, so there was nothing for the tread to bite into. It just shot out front like a rocket! Oh, well. At least it's only about 4 inches of ice I'm on top of - it should melt before March is over.
The poor guy whose car is in front of our house, the one the guy wielding the snowblower completely buried top and bottom, front and back! He got the back of the SUV cleared, and managed to shovel away enough ice to get his front door open, but the bottom, sides and front up tot he hood are still encased in it. He got a jump the other night after work and warmed it up for a half hour but he saw the ice was also *inside* the engine compartment. Poor guy isn't going anywhere any time soon.
Walking home with the groceries I counted a total of 12 cars on our block alone that didn't/couldn't dig out yet since the first storm on Super Sunday. We counted at least 10 per side-street along the way. It's been a long winter.

Doc, I just finished washing my car and your right it does feel like Spring even though it's only 34*. It's sunny at my location, but the wind is picking up out of the N/NW. Must be that SOB the Polar Vortex pushing South. LOL !

52 degrees right now in WDC and now they're expecting 8-12 inches of snow.
We'll see if this storm breaks their hearts to.

Only a hopeful thought, I was in the mid-50s the day before the frontal boundary 2/3 storm, unfortunately with these setups you want to be on the warm side to start so the front sags south of you as precip starts and you get the most QPF and cold. I'm all the way down to 40 which means it'll be too cold by the time the second wave comes and the PV will be well south.

SNOW, there is enough salt on my old heap van to fill the salt shakers in every pizza joint in North Jersey.
Glad you got to wash your car.Yep,34 feels like 64 these days.
As far as this storm goes, as Ralph Kramden would say..."It came easy....and went just as fast"!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, brother Raccoon!
