Very frustrating they can't score with a man on 3rd and 1 out.... hopefully they'll turn it around when the guys get back

Dunz, I'm cutting them slack because run production is not going to be good with Wright, D'Arnaud and Lagares out.Pawlecki is a nice prospect but he needs more time in the minors.He's having trouble with major league pitching right now.Also, as always, the Wilpons have to loosen the purse strings or Alderson has to make a trade for a solid, young hitter(s) who can hit .300,25HRs and 125 hits.Going on the cheap with Cuddyer and Granderson will only get you so far.

So the Mets are now 20-15 after losing four at Wrigley Field.  This team does not have any legitimate base-stealers or power hitters despite the hints of it today.  The last time the Mets were contenders (2005-08 when they had winning seasons each year), they did.  This video shows the talent those teams had despite not making it to the World Series:

Go figure, today they score 5 runs and lose.Poor Harvey could have used a few of those last night.

I miss those seasons. That team has a lot of fire and determination.

Such a shame that Beltran struck out watching a curveball from Wainwright.The Mets could have beaten Detroit easily as the Cards did in '06.That '06 season was the highlight of the Minaya team.

Death spiral continues.Colon rocked and now Herrera on DL with broken finger warming up before the game.How F___ED UP is that one,LOL! Cambell returns to third and Murphy goes back to second.Collin's infield starting to sound like that Abbott and Costello "Who's On First" Routine.Only the truth is not so funny.At least Lagares is back.The festering wound at shortstop continues, Flores making another error.The guy can hit but just cannot field the position.

Should keep Campbell, Tejada, Murph and Duda in the infield until David gets back. Collins played around with the lineup last year and it was a mess. Let the guys play consistently and they will come around.

I like that infield you mention.Flores can hit but loses more games with his fielding.Give the job to Tejada and let Flores play ocaisionaly.

This team has no hitting at all

Only hope for better hitting is Wright and D'Arnaud getting back.They were both hitting well when they went down.Probably will take a couple of weeks for them to get back in the groove.

METS ARE BACK! 14-1 beatdown of the Brewers. DeGrom pitched really well and is back on track, and went 3 for 3! Flores hits a grand salami and all in the rain.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph....wish I could put all those runs in a bank and use them on the close games,LOL! More important than the offensive Atom Bomb was Jacob DeGrom getting back on track.Hey, Collins has a great pinch hitter with him, 3 for 3, what a hoot!

Good to see Granderson and Cuddyer's averages moving up, Lagaeres back, Wright healing and Gee pitched 54 pitches last night.

We hit the bottom so there is no place to go but up!

Nice game pitched by Syndegaard.The kid has what it takes, you bet! Nice production in hitting as well.Nice to be back on the rails again!

Won today, DeGrom is back on track with 11 Ks. A split with St. Louis is a good week!

Watched that whole game.DeGrom brilliant against a powerhouse hitting club! Lucas Duda has the power,man! Split with the leading clubs...kick arse with the weak team.That's a formula for being playoff bound.If we can stay close to first while Wright and D'Arnaud get back, there may be a shot this year.

So glad to see Alderson got Keith on board to help Duda with the lefties.Hope Keith can be more active helping the other guys.Keith ate up lefties.

We got beat by a great young pitcher.Even the best hitting teams get beaten, look at DeGrom and the Cards the other day.That's a baseball corollary set in concrete.......great pitching always beats good hitting.Glad to see Gee coming back, he was on a roll.Good game Harvey vs Burnett who has been amazing.

Spinal stenosis sounds bad.Campbell can't hit.The curse of the long contract continues.

Spinal stenosis is treatable with cortisone shots and exercise, but it takes a while to recover from. Maybe we will see him after the all-star break, and be a pinch hitter and cheerleader. The young kids need him in the dugout

It's just rotten luck because we needed his offense in our weak hitting lineup.We'll have to see what the long term prognosis is here.When Herrera gets back I'd put Murph back on third.He has more hitting ability than Campbell.D'Arnaud now becomes an important piece of the lineup.

Wright's career might be over

That thought came into my mind,Snow.Even if he manages to come back, this stenosis will be on his mind and might affect his play.Not any mystery to me, when I started watching baseball on a regular basis in 1960, a 32 year old was considered an old man and by 35, most guys were gone.

If Wright goes down, the Mets are on the hook to him for big money and will find it hard to take on a superstars big contract with this and the idiot Wilpon's greed with dealing with that dirtbag Madoff.

CP's brilliant statement on a Yankee post a while back that Mat Harvey may be in a Yankee uniform someday is dead on accurate as the Mets would not be able to afford a huge contract to him.

Losing 9-1, Duda out with hamstring, Lagares still not right, Wright is wrong.....

As long as we stay within a few games of first, I'll keep the faith. So many injuries across baseball, Keith was thinking maybe too much weight training during the season, when they just should do enough to maintain their fitness. We'll see.
