Same here "Art". it stared about 1:15 and came down like gangbusters.. No light snow to begin with. Just BOOM. Cars, streets are covered and very slick driving.

The surface low is still down in southern Ohio Valley. Once that shoots north, so will all that precip

it is nice to see that even places basically on the ocean such as Fire Island and Montauk Point are still at or below freezing before the snow even starts.

The coast from DC to CT should see bands of light to moderate snow stream in from the southwest over the afternoon. By early evening, round #2 will be here which is when the heaviest snow rates can be expected.

damn this isn't heavy wow! Looking forward to that second part, this snow keeps training over same area very small creep to the east. Looking out maybe a half inch maybe less not sure

The 3-6" line in NJ on my snow map should be moved all the way to the Jersey coast and into all of LI besides the east-end and southeast shore.
